Default Help me forget my ABC's. Trying to pull a move...

UTG is a nit, he was running 11/9 at the time of this hand over a decent sample size. I put him on AQ+, TT+. I made the pre-flop call because I had position and I thought I could take the pot down on any raggedy or coordinated flop. I've seen him fold to post-flop aggression in similiar situations.

Flop is good for me, I call with the intent to rep any flush card as well as bet any card that makes my hand. Turn is where it all comes apart. His lead looks like a block bet, but I don't think I raised enough to blow him off of his hand if he has an over pair or a naked Ac. Maybe 65ish? And if he pushes? I'm still thinking my straight outs are good plus I have 75% of my stack in the pot already. But I don't know anymore... Help?

    Hero ($103.45)

Preflop: Hero is Button with T, A.
UTG raises to $4, 2 folds, Hero calls $4, 2 folds.

    Flop: ($9.50) 8, J, 9 (2 players)
UTG bets $7, Hero calls $7.

    Turn: ($23.50) J (2 players)
UTG bets $19, Hero raises to $56

fold the turn , your float didnt work ...he's probably way ahead of you on the turn and he might have a big club which is going to pretvent him from folding ...

edit// his turn lead is pretty strong , i see what your saying ..he's trying to protect his hand but i still dont think this is the spot to make a move ....

Plz end hand history at hero raises to 56.
I'm pretty close to liking this, It really seems like an overpair and an FD, which may want to fold on this board.
But the problem is the FD. It may be enough for him to be like, fuck it im calling.

i fold the turn also. theres no need to put your whole stack on the line, and theres a chance your straight wont be good if you hit it.

I like this move if you have a good image and villain knows how to fold.

    fold>shove>56

The problem with your plan to raise to 56 is that hes gonna call you with a high club a lot specially an overpair+club or AK+club as he thinks he has flush+str8+boat outs potentially. The other problem with your plan is that all of the boats out there are in his range as well... and hes a nit, which means he wont fold often. Nits make money when aggressive players represent hands better than overpairs and the nits call down with overpairs. Ur float on the flop is good tho imo, just his turn bet means you have to lay it down. Folding pre is also very acceptable here.

I'd like it better if you raised less looking like you want to pot-commit him on the river.
when the vpip's are high and the value bets are like razors, who can be safe?

I've yet to see a villian that reads like this at 100NL.

    No doubt

I've pushed some good villains off what appeared to be big hands using this logic at n200.

Since nl200 is only slightly tougher in my experience, I don't know that at least the top end of the player pool wouldn't get scared if you made a pot-building raise.
