    Question HM2 Note Caddy Users?

Does anyone here use the full version of Note Caddy for HM2?

    Any views/feedback?

    Cheers!

I use it. I think hand taken notes have more value in a lot of ways, since you have to make the observations in the first place. I also think that a lot of the notes it takes are reads you couldn't really rely on in any way until you had a really big sample. It's kind of a steep learning curve, and to get much out of it you have to put in some time learning how to interpret what it's telling you.

All that said, I think it's worth the money, but it's not a must-have.

I recently started using Notecaddy when i got HM2 and thought it was pretty cool. But i recently purchased the Notecaddy Edge program, and so far it is awesome. Has amazing popups, badges, etc. maybe take a look at that.

Cheers goaty...but you need to purchase NoteCaddy Premium inorder to be able to use NCE, right?

Yes, i had to purchase Notecaddy. i believe $50 but can't remember now.

After i bought it , i used some of the stock definitions, and you get the standard badges and spark graphs. And then i came across Notecaddy advantage. it was cool, but i was kind of unhappy about a few things, and the support was not great, lack of updates, etc

Then i found Notecaddy Edge, and they are doing a fantastic job. maybe go check out a few videos. The popups are ridiculously good, excellent badges, they are constantly improving and adding things, and the support is really good. They have helped me out a couple times, installed my package thru teamviewer for free, made some custom color definitions for me for free. I'm super happy with it.

funny because you want to tell people how good it is, but at the same time, i'd rather not run into people using it at my table.

If I decide to buy HEM2 and NoteCaddy I'm sure I'll do some research on Edge and Advantage at some point. But is it essentially just packages other individuals have made? Like things that you could make if you took the time to go through and create all the definitions/badges/etc yourself? Or does it offer some extra benefits that you wouldn't otherwise be able to get without purchasing it?

With Notecaddy Advantage the definitions were locked and hidden. so you couldn't see how they did anything. i guess i can see why someone might do this, but i didn't like that aspect.

With Notecaddy Edge, everything is open/unlocked. so you can create your own, modify, etc. Nothing is hidden or locked. They are pretty open to suggestion, so i think as customers have requested different things, they have tried to implement it.

You could definitely create your own, but i think it would be a ton of work. but it is for sure possible. i just found that there didn't seem to be alot of info on how to create your own custom stats. It was kind of like pulling teeth. And i've just found the NCE package to be far superior to the other one. It is really well done.

Another nice thing is the price i believe for NCE is $99, regardless of stakes you play. The Advantage package was priced by buy ins for stake you were playing, so there were some people that paid quite a lot of $ for NCA package, and ended up switching to NCE anyway.

i have nothing against the NCA guys, it opened my eyes to the things that were possible with Notecaddy. but the NCE people took the idea and in my opinion improved on it considerably.

As far as i understand, NoteCaddy used to be a stand-alone app that has now been integrated into HM2 (you get a basic version of it as part of the standard HM2 install). NC Premium is a separate licence purchase that gives you the full functionality

NCE is a packaged configuration of NC by a guy called nostrakhan on 2+2; in his own words "What Notecaddy Edge does is puts together a comprehensive package of definitions and badges for notecaddy, so that you don't have to spend hours and hours and hours putting it together."

so the short answer is - you need the full NoteCaddy licence for the defs and badges functionality, but i guess you could do all that NCE does yourself if you're a brainiac with too much time to spare.

I came across a site called "Crush the game", and this guy had a cool HUD he was selling for PT3, and he had some custom Notecaddy definitions in there, i purchased it, but like you said, at that time Notecaddy ended up being HM2 exclusive so i couldn't use that feature. They didn't offer the standalone program anymore

i guess that is how i became aware of Notecaddy, and after doing a little reading it seemed pretty cool. So decided to give HM2 a try and really ended up liking it, and have been using it ever since.

I like the Apps that are intergrated into the program. I use both Notecaddy, and Leakbuster for HM2. Both solid products

Bought NoteCaddy Edge but have no idea really how to work it. Will have to skype the creator. I'm just getting used to HEM2 though.

goathair - pretty sure I played some vs. you last night on BCP. Your name looks really familiar.

Nice, it is a pretty cool program. those guys do really good work, and if you are confused about anything, they will literally help you around the clock. Guy has helped me on skype a few times. So just add him, and let him know if you need help with anything.

Yeah, that was probably me. I play on Merge, although there are a couple of other "goat" characters. pale comparisons obv.

i'm just a noob, still down a bunch on Carbon, but think i'm finally turning the corner. Ran so horrible when i tried to move up, but started using Leakbuster, and got a little coaching, so think i have improved a fair bit. Plugged alot of leaks.

One thing you may want to check out with the Notecaddy Edge program is, that i had him set my color definitions to a higher sample size. i think my setting is currently at "10", so if a badge shows up for someone, they have performed that action a minimum of 10 times.

You ever get the package installed? Any luck with it?
