I dont think I like any street. You have terrible odds with 64o PF.

sorry to piss on your bonfire but fold preflop, then fold on the flop, then fold on the turn then maybe shove river and hope to christ he doesnt have the ace hearts or a boat. And try to use a readable hh next time.

    I'd call pre-flop if it was s00ted.

Consider a flop raise, against most sorts I'm folding right there if he's regularly potting into multiple players he'll spew off his money soon enough.

On the turn I think I'm giving him credit for a hand if I didn't already on the flop.

River is standard. Against thinking players, I would bet less.

Is there a hand-history converter for sites other than Full-Tilt and Poker Stars?

Of course all critism is wrong, this was my greatest hand of recent days, that's why I posted it

Clearly he has a scared overpair after the marginally larger than pot-size bet on the three flush flop.

I'm playing it as pair and flush draw against the overpair, which is a profitable situation. The twist is that I don't have the flush draw, but that doesn't matter.

As it happens turn also gave me gutshot, but again fairly irrelavent. I don't have a massive history against this guy, but it's surely very probable he has overpair w/o a heart?

Is this posted for feedback, or for brag?

brag imo, and its definitely possible villain was barreling wid the ace hearts or was simply playing aa/kk wid a heart fast. jj/qq with the heart is even more likely. The way you played it you have to bet the river strongly on the bluff but your play up till the river wasnt good at all.

Of course I'm bragging, already admitted that.

Folding preflop was a close decision, but the table was weak enough and the odds good enough that I chose to call. Not all the critism was wrong, folding pre is certainly a viable option.

Overbet flop is generally bluff / two pair, or overpair (clearly not two pair here). If he'd bet a few cents lower and matched the pot I may have folded flop.

    ----

Clearly I would not be as brash if this move had back-fired, but I'm confident if used sparingly it is a profitable play.

FD comes in 1/3 of the time, so 2/3 you lose your $37?

If he always folds river when flush comes in then 1/3 times you win $45.

Occassionally he has a set, semi-bluffed twice, or his "obvious overpair" included a heart and you lose $127.

    Do the maths.

    L2Math.

There are so many spots in short-handed play where people have shit (edit: and quite a few where they will bet their shit because they don't put you on shit either.) I don't get the appeal of fucking around with someone you know has an over-pair and is putting in big bets with it.
  13. #13
I gave myself flush or two pair after the flop (51.2%).

I maybe lied when I said the gutshot turn was irrelavent, I now have 18 outs (10 genuine), that I'll play the river with.

this is hand is pretty bad and your attitude in this thread makes you look like a jackass. please only post interesting hands about which you are seeking advice rather than praise.

I was neither fishing for, nor expecting praise. Quite the opposite.

I just wanted to (and shall do) my best to explain the errors of the critics ways.

wow, you are really arrogant. it is obvious from your posts that you are a fairly weak player. if you want to improve at this game, there is a lot that these forums can offer you. if you make threads like these, you've wasted your time and you will not get any better.

In order to pay the bills I make hundreds (well maybe tens), of fantastic plays everyday.

This was the best for a while and you're all being so negative

no we're just saying it how it is. You made a bad play and much better players are giving you advice. You can ask "why?" to some of their answers but arguing and constantly saying that your play is def. the best is useless and would mean there's no point in posting this hand.

I would listen to the advice that has been given to you if i were you. These guys have years of experience.

As for the hand..there is really no reason to try and steal this pot. Don't try and be fancy..just play solid poker and you'll make money that way.

this hand is terrible except for the riv which is okish. maybe if you realize that you suck and drop the attitude and listen you could be good some day.

No one's being negative just to be asses. You realize most guys replying in this thread play stakes higher than yours and are very solid winners? That doesn't mean they're right every single time, but when they all think a play is terrible/bad, you might want to step back, consider what they're saying, and look at your hand a little more objectively.

    I’m a professional poker player.

It was the aftermath of a friends wedding last night, and I was very drunk. I apologise if my ‘Mike the Mouth’ style of forum communication offended anyone.

I picked this hand, because I was drunk, looking for conflict and was aware that it appears terrible.

Poker is a situational game. That cannot be overstated, even after only a few hands there will be information that any hand poster has, that no responder can know.

This was a profitable play, and (Mike the Mouth warning), it was also fantastic.

If I have the same situation again a million times and play the hand the same again a million times I’m sure I will win.

your mike the mouth play sucks even more than your mike the mouth "style of forum communication"

oh and please move up to 400NL soon I'm on a downswing

400 is generally boring, execpt for when it is uncomfortably exciting.

What is 'super serial' is it something like Special K?

Dude. Are you serious? haha. Ah jeez. You've made my day.

So much retardation, so little time.

    1. Despite what you stated several times, his flop bet is not an overbet. 2.50 x 4 = what, class? That's right: 10.00! Even if you subtract a little rake, on most sites that have one, hitting the "bet pot" button will result in exactly that 10.00 bet.

    2. Believe me on this: it's quite possible he's betting an overpair with a heart in it, or hammering away with a set (TT most likely) because he doesn't want to give anyone a crack at outdrawing him on this scary board. And if either of those is what he has, you lose your stack. You seem to think it's rare or almost impossible that he'd have those hands but let me tell you - if it was me in this pot (and I also play 50 NL) they are definitely in my range for those bets.

So when you hang around on those "flush outs," you're simply gambling. "C'mon, c'mon, don't have a big heart or a boat!" This time you got lucky - that doesn't mean it was profitable.

    3. Used "sparingly" this is a profitable play? I don't even know where to start with that one. Look up the concept of EV and get back to us.

    4. 18 outs? How do you figure? A flush draw is 9 outs. A pair draw (to two pair or trips) is 5 outs, but since you're giving yourself a heart that you actually don't have that reduces those to just 4. And a gutshot draw is 4 outs, but again one of those is a redundant heart. You actually have 16 outs, though an unknown and possibly huge number of those "outs" are dirty as hell and just going to cost you the rest of your chips. Neat.
  32. #32
    No.

There is specific information given by the bet-sizes and board make-up, that means here villian has over-pair w/o the flush 95%
