Default I suck with AKs too

Vs. standard TAG player 20/11/4 over 40+hands

    BB ($19)
    UTG ($84)

UTG bets $3, Hero calls $3.

    Turn: ($9.75) J (2 players)
UTG bets $6, Hero calls $6.

Your hand is very strong, so why are you playing it so passively?

I would have re-raised preflop to 4-5. And bet the flop and turn HARD, with my nut flush draw.

If I'm called on the turn, I might have to think about checking through the river, when my flush doesn't complete.

This should be a standard 3bet PF. As played I raise the flop, if we had 3bet and he lead into us, I would push. I dont think calling the turn is bad as we should have a lot of outs and a T could really be good for us. As played, the river is a fold. While I agree with the turn and river play, I really think this hand was played waaaay too passively and we need to be 3betting PF nearly everything single time and a flop raise is something that is good to incorporate into your game regardless of the PF action

I almost always 3 bet AK, but I was in position and wanted to extract maximum value from a worse A. He probably has a tight UTG opening range. Other than that(or maybe including that) I played the hand terribly.
    Thanks for the help.

I think just calling preflop with A-K should be used sparingly as a variation play in 6-max. I would usually reraise preflop, and having failed that, raised the flop. You may even have the best hand, and if not, he'll have a difficult time calling with most of his hands.
