    Default JJ OOP check up.

How is this line? I was new to the table, so no reads, except the table stats from the lobby were $40 average pot and 70% of players to the flop, if that means anything. I was kind of worried of KdXd but hate giving free cards or making my decisions any more difficult by checking the turn.

    No Limit Holdem Ring game
    Blinds: $0.50/$1

    Stack sizes:
    UTG: $100
    CO: $74.80
    Button: $122.40
    SB: $252.20
    hero: $98.50

    Pre-flop: (5 players) hero is BB with J J
UTG (poster) checks, CO calls, Button folds, SB calls, hero raises to $5, UTG folds, CO calls, SB folds.

    Flop: 7 8 8 ($12, 2 players)
    hero bets $10, CO calls.

    Turn: K ($32, 2 players)
hero bets $20 and folds to a raise???

Sounds very good to me. What's your plan if he calls the turn? I guess you shut down since you have no read.

That was my main confusion, because if I get called then chances are good but not certain I'm behind, but if I check and he bets strong then I probably should just fold. So it seemed better to bet/fold.

But if called, the river gets tricky since if any A or diamond hits I just check/fold, and if no scare card hits then probably check/call some bets hoping to pick off a busted draw/bluff.

It's hard balancing not donking money into a better hand and not inducing bluffs I can't call. I guess it was good he just folded to the turn bet
