i know i have no business posting in a 200NL thread but i figure i'll give it a shot first. i would probably fold this. that is a pretty crazy raise. AK, KT, K5, TT, 55 beat you...but his button opening range is way wider than that. i dunno. i probably folded because i dont know where i'm at.

EDIT the more i look at it the more i want to shove. i guess it's a WA/WB situation.

Pretty good chance he was planning to raise a lot of flops when he called pre-flop.

Yeah, if you don't like getting all in on this flop when you hit your really shouldn't be 3-betting then.

what do insta-raises and insta-calls typically mean to you guys? to me they mean a weaker hand. i guess it's because it takes more thought to determine what your opponent might have and how much more you can get out of them. esp insta-raises. which is why i try to always use up the same amount of clock if possible regardless of whether i know what i want to do or not.

insta-raises mean there wasn't a lot of thought going into a decision, and since it's a lot harder to have the nuts than it is air, they are generally weak imo.

I take insta-raises to mean they basically already made up their mind before they even saw your action/the board/ etc. I would think someone with a good hand would want to figure out how to extract value from you. Of course, other times it's just a guy that can't get his money in the pot fast enough with a winning hand so I don't put too much faith into what it could mean unless I know the player.

It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.
