Default Let's talk about a small pot

Opponent just sat down with a short buy and looks kinda loose/bad.

    How'd I do?

    $1/$2 No Limit Holdem
    PokerStars
    5 players
    Converted at weaktight.com

    Stacks:
    UTG ($217.60)
    CO ($160.15)
    Hero ($194.70)
    SB ($198.00)
    BB ($102.40)

    Pre-flop: ($3, 5 players) Hero is BTN
2 folds, Hero raises to $6, 1 fold, BB calls $4

    Flop: ($13, 2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $8, BB calls $8

    Turn: ($29, 2 players)
    BB checks, Hero checks

    River: ($29, 2 players)
    BB bets $20, Hero folds

Umm you did fine imo ; I look this up probably about 40% of the time with no reads other than "likely random bad player". I fold if I'm hating variance atm of the hand.
when the vpip's are high and the value bets are like razors, who can be safe?

I lead the turn so I either take it
or I can check the river behind if he called with a flush draw

    does that make sense?
I expect pps not to call the turn bet, but flush draws to call

i basically never fold when all draws miss and i have an A high that beats them all.

I sometimes check behind flop, and I never two barrel this board or call the river against a bad player....Is that bad??

This is making the assumption that he bets his missed draws 100% of the time and it's still a fold.

his value range isnt that big.

and he has more bluffs than just missed draws he will probably show up with shit like K10 sometimes.

this range is crazy. i dont get why you posted it.

folding and calling are super close in this hand.

if you re calling w JJ you should be calling w A7

    Bet the turn?

    Never bet the turn.

His range is balanced, if the turn card was a 2 with same action i'd call. The 8 is a great card for his range in two ways. One is he's much more likely to have an 8 then you. Secondly, he has two easy vbets on the river instead of one (an 8 and a Q).
