Default line check with trips facing shove $50NL

I've played over 700 hands with the villain and he is pretty terrible. VPIP 58, PFR 21, 3bet 9.4. He usually short stacks, so it was strange to play with so much effective versus him. I've seen him push on various streets with strong hands with a short stack (top pair decent kicker, two pairs, etc). I've seen him bluff on the river before, but I've never seen him push and show down with a bluff.

Anyway I just wanna know... do I ever beat anything here?

Maybe Axhh and he decided to go crazy after hitting the ace on the river, but that seems like stretching it and I can't think of anything else that I beat. So it seems like it should be an easy fold?

    Hero (Button) ($74.55)
    SB ($79.20)

1 fold, Hero bets $1.50, SB raises $4.25, 1 fold, Hero calls $3

    Flop: ($9.50) J, 5, 4 (2 players)
SB bets $6, Hero calls $6

    Turn: ($21.50) J (2 players)
SB bets $8, Hero raises $25, SB calls $17

What are his 3bing stats from the sb vs btn steal?

His turn bet size is really weak and if he isn't such a good player then he probably isn't trying to induce a raise from you with it. On the river the only thing you really lose to is AA i feel. I mean maybe he 3b a small pair and flopped a set but its unlikely he would play that way on the turn. I guess it comes down to whether he is bad enough to have some AhXh hands in his range that would spaz out and shove river after making top pair.

I really feel like he can have something retarded like A3s and was semi-bluffing his wheel draw and hit the A.

I find I'm beat here more than I like vs this line by a bad villain, but it's still a profitable call.

slightly off topic.. but are there merits to 4betting light here pre flop to say $10-$11 as apposed to just calling..?

ive found at 25nl 6m 4betting these types of somewhat marginal hands for 3bet pots in a CO or Bttn V blinds scenario with a villian who has a high 3bet % to be fairly profitable...
