Default Making the move to 50NL 6-Max from 25NL 6-Max..

    Anyone got any tips.

Is the play on average tigheter/looser than 25NL, how about the 100NL 6-Max games. I know I've seen LesWorm playing those maybe he can give me some advice.

Initially when I started playing poker I was scared at 6-Max after taking huge losses, but now I have gotten to the point where I can comfortably beat 6-Max 25NL so I want to give the higher stakes a shot.

    Thanks..
    Currently Playing 8 Tables of 25NL 10-Max.
    Or
    2 Tables of 100NL 10-Max

    Current Bankroll: $625

Goal: To stop pulling $$$ out of my bankroll and build it up to 1k.

play the same game (i assume your reasonably tight?) but id be tempted to raise a few more non-premium hands in order to try and mix up the oppositions reads on you, some may have developed a bit of knowledge by 50nl. But really its the same game, just remember it is now more importnat than ever to fold when you think your beat as bluffs will get a little more repsect (but only a little!)

Full ring I play pretty tight, but 6-Max I play super super Laggy. Unless the table is super loose, then I just play solid values.

If the table is tight though I'll raise with just about anything from later position and build my stack slowly.

Are you saying that the best way to 50NL is profitable to just play tight? I would assume most players are usuing poker track or paying attention and you wouldn't get paid off, but maybe I'm giving them too much credit.

    hey surf-

congrats on getting a more comfortable level of consistency on NL$25. that is a big step so you should be happy. i am of the opinion that you can't generalize one incremental level against another and rely on them as fundamental differences. i.e., the difference from 25 to 50 or 50 to 100 or 100 to 200 is just too incremental for generalizations to be helpful. when you start talking about the differences between 50NL and 600NL, then it becomes useful to do so. just play solid poker and make little adjustments based on the table, your image there, previous experience against players, etc. be open to doing things differently if that's what it takes and you'll be fine.

so, my advice for taking the next step would be to go to 50 when you're bankrolled for it. if you use the 20 buy in rule, that means $1k, which i think was your goal in your sig. the biggest difference you'll see from $25NL is the amount that you win or lose when you're all in therre...

if it helps, you may start just mixing in the occasional 50NL table every few sessions (for your current BR of 625, I'd say every 5th table or so) to warm up to it. it can be alarming at first, i know, but you have to be able to push the max buyin all in on ANY level to be sucessful @ NLHE.

    good luck!
In answer to your question... it depends...
