Do you fold the flop given the action preflop or do you play it same way I do? I just feel like I was too damn stubborn. This voice in the back of my head kept saying that I got in 1/4 my stack preflop who cares while my other voice was saying fold you moron you know he has KK.

i hate when you know you're beat but you're just hoping he has AK because you want the pot so you call. Tough hand, i'm sure you'll be able to fold it next time.

It seemed like you knew you were beat so you just checked flop, but then u called him down. by the turn/river it was sure kk, ak would've slowed down a long time ago.

How often does AK re-raise like that pre-flop in that game?

I'd have to raise somewhere to see where I'm at, try and get a read; I hate calling down.

Opponents are entirely capable of smooth calling with a hand that beats yours in a lot of different circumstances. That's why "raising for information often doesn't work.

Do you honestly think this guy would have reraised with kings full if he got raised?

I had a AA vs KK last night where the opp hit the K on the turn. In the back of my mind I knew he had KK, but another part of my brain was going "he didnt have any odds, bla bla bla".

That said, if you reraise the flop, does he realy smooth call without KK? Even if he has AK he should be aware of AA, no?

I think that with the way the betting went preflop you knew what he had and he knew what you had - so in that case i think it is a fold on the flop - unless you have some read on this player that would make you think otherwise.

I'd raise more preflop. Its just way too obvious that you have AA after a minrereraise. Maybe you'd be able to get it all in preflop with a bigger raise.

a min reraise would have been to 190, he made 240

I would reraise more preflop, but the money is going in most of the times unless you really trust your read and can fold AA in this spot. That would be pretty impressive.

My goal is to get better every day. The money will come by itself.

Yippee ... its basically the same thing. That's still the scariest possible raise to the KK, and would almost certainly scare him off from reraising again. I much prefer making it around 400, which would make it extremely tempting for the KK to put you all in preflop.

I agree with Michael here. Also I call this down unless I know my opp VERY well.

    Chris,
I keep telling you if you get that sort of preflop action you have to make the hand at least an automatic push on the flop. But, preferably an all in preflop. You want him to make a BIG mistake.

By betting it up big in small increments you are making the play of your opponents profitable in the long term. Providing he is smart enough to see that you have AA and fold if he doesn't set.

$400 is the least you can reraise it to here.
    Just my opinion (and I'm probably wrong) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)

    $300 flat protects his stack.
