    Default Multi tabling SH

I'm a winning NL$50 SH player, and playing about 15 hours a week, but progress is slow since i only play one table. i find it fairly hard to play a few tables at a time (i can multi FR, not as successful SH), i play far better with reads, which i can't get multi tabling.

i notice tons of you guys play plenty of tables SH, and obviously its better for the bankroll if i can learn, any advice on how to do it better? should i just tighten up to reduce more marginal decisions, and stick gametime+ on?

once simple decisions like preflop raises and continuation bets become totally subconcious and automatic for you, then you should be able to handle 3-4 tables.

it just takes practice. Going from 1 to 2 tables is the hardest. 2-3 is pretty easy. 3-4 is easier. I havnt played more than 4 since I like to watch the tables and not just rely on a HUD.

Add one at a time and expect a couple of losing sessions while you get the hang of it

Just load up 10, grab a hud, and pretend it's starcraft or something.

It takes some getting use to. I still get reads while playing 8 plus, however I'm playing such low limits reads aren't as important as they would be at higher limits. Try and pay attn to showdown hands and having ahud knowing their vpip/pfr/af/w$sd etc etc all help.

Once you get the hang of 2 tables at once, you're good to go. Moving to 3 and then 4 tables will feel natural.

yeah it's like riding a bike. once u find yourself zoning out like that, then u can add tables.
In answer to your question... it depends...

    Interesting!

For some reason, I can handle 3 tables at once comfortably enough, but I find 4 a bit manic.

Quick question to those who mega-multi, do you include the Stars "fast" tables in this?

    Default multi-tabling

I used to be in your position recently, having trouble multi tabling.

I just started multi-tabling 3 tables at $100NL, and I feel I actually play better when I do this. Having to concentrate on several tables at once has forced me to dump marginal hands in marginal spots, especially preflop.

For example, if I'm playing 1 table, I may call a PF raise with KJ in LP (which may or may not be +EV.. KJ is pretty marginal facing a raise). . but if i'm playing a few tables, and have AQ, KK on 2 other tables, I may just toss the KJ not wanting to deal with it.

All in all, I think its forced me to tighten up my preflop range, facing agression. Which, in my case, was probably a good thing.

If you want practice just load up 12 1$ 2-table sng's, its cheap and after 2 sessions you'll get a hang of multi tabling.

stars is much easier to play lots of tables than party. Doing a ten table fr renton-style is pretty easy on stars but i find it a nightmare on party. Prima was/is ok for it but crypto is also tough even when i get the two monitors working.

    I only play 3-4 tables.

I can't play more than 3 hands at a time, too much to keep track of and I'm too deep of a thinker.

yaaaaaayyyyyyyy for sanity!!! I was beginning to think I must be cognitively challenged if I wasn't able to 16 table, jerk off and eat a sandwich at the same time.

I think the benefit from loading up a lot of NLHE tables (8+) is much lower than LHE because there is a more value out of better play.

I found playing only 1x table more distracting than playing 2-3x. At least I concentrate on poker while multi-tabling otherwise I would get bored too quickly and start making stupid moves.

SNG’s are easier to multi-table. I tried 6x once and it was fun.

I was the exact same way until recently. Keep adding the 4th one from time to time and you'll have no problems.

if you're able to quickly adjust between shorthand and ring, it might help to open up an extra ring game. of course...this is if you can quickly adjust between the 2 games...

have you guys ever tried 8+ SH tables on FullTilt?? Its ridiculous.
I'm thinking about moving to Stars just for a better multi tabling experience... does that seem like the right move?
    do the right thing.

I 4 table 6max, rarely 5. I ditched my HUD so like to gain reads.

Just add 1 more table and turn off you TV and music. Focus and you should be fine.

I don't know if I could live without HUD, It's like instant preflop reads.
