Default My 2nd foray into 1/2

I thought this was a good spot to 3-barrel. Or is this just spew? Villain is loose preflop, but a little tighter post. I'm playing LAG but only shown down goods.

Villain is loose preflop, not sure how he plays post. I felt I could get him off a higher pair or 9. Give up turn/river?

All of these too standard (or maybe too donkish)? I'm really interested in how you all play the AK and JJ hand.

I like the 3-barrel in Hand 1. I believe that you will get enough fold to make this profitable on this board.

The AK hand I might play the same if I am in gambling mood because opp has AT with the Ac here almost always.

The JJ hand is marginal. Its either shoving or folding. However, I think that this is QQ-AA here a lot.

I would give up on the river in hand 1 after getting called twice.

2nd hand is ridiculous spew. I would just call his check-raise and reevaluate on the turn, or simply fold if he is straightforward. Merely calling in this spot actually looks more intimidating than reraising. Letting him keep the lead forces him to better define his hand at less cost to you.

A line that works surprisingly well against people that donk into you like this (particularly bad players) is to just call their flop bet and then raise the turn. It has some tactical advantages over raising the flop but also is a classic case of passing up a small edge in favor of pushing a larger one later.

The J-J hand is an incredibly thin push. I am much more inclined to fold here. What are you hoping he has?

Hand 1 I love, the Q was a perfect card to bluff

Hand 2... ummm give up flop

    Hand 3 fine

Hand 4 you've done great now shove.

Is it common at this level for a villain to play QQ-AA like this in hand 4? I would think KK and AA would definitely reraise pre to isolate.

If I'm in position I sometimes call a 3-bet with AA/KK and play it fast on a dry board.

I initially didn't like betting at all on the flop in hand 4, but with two players in the hand and numerous bad turn cards we are letting our opponents with weak draws see the turn for free. I may just turn my hand into a bluff here and bet/fold the flop, since you are almost always either slight ahead/way behind.

With Q-Q i would probably bet/call the flop, because now there are two likely underpairs that might play the same way, and one less overpair.

I like hand 1 a lot, villain has a bare 10 here lots and will fold. I like to overbet in these spots if i'm going to 3-barrel as i do this with the nuts as well.

Hand 2 I like just calling the reraise if we intend to continue with the hand (isn't that what we'd do if we had 99 or an 8 or an overpair?) and then raise his turn bet or just bet the turn strong if checked to.

Hand 3 is ok I guess but I just call his donk lead and then value bet if checked to/call him down on non club turns etc...

Hand 4 I think this is a fold, I can't think of anything we're ahead of unless villain got his stack gambling excessively. Sucks that we've committed so much, but I think you have to bet this flop.

    Hey Trip,
I was on Prima yesterday yeah but I usually play with miniview and no chat so if someone was talking smack I missed out on it . Though today I berated someone like an idiot.

Keeps the grind a bit more interesting. Were you on one of my tables? (sorry for the hijack!!)

btw I don't think stacking off with JJ is very bad either after seeing what kind of odds we're getting.

I really think folding hand 4 is a huge laydown considering preflop action (only pair we're really scared of is Q's), the fact that it's tough to flop sets and finally the fact that there are a bunch.

not to mention the price we re getting.

I hate you. Oh yeah and I was ahead in the 44 hand. Bastard.

Edit: I find people checkraise this with a low/mid pair and air here often enough to make the flop 3-bet profitable. I play big pairs the same way.

    Nope.

Did he go all in on the river in the 66 hand?

hand 1 - I like the triple barrel here, the turn and river were good cards

hand 2 - If you're going to play your hand like an overpair then either call the raise and shove over a turn bet. Or bet when checked to on turn. As played, I think the flop might be spew, but if you're gonna go that route I would bet the turn hard.

hand 3 - I think this is fine

hand 4 - I don't know if this is an easy shove. I can't see many hands you're ahead of. You're prob up against a FD w overs or an overpair, but the pot odds make it close here. I probably end up shoving, but I'm not so happy about it.

No but he thought for 30 seconds and called with (guess). I still like my bets though.
Oh and on the JJ hand I also have no idea what I'm beating but of course I'm a donk and pushed anyway.

Hand 4 I am figuring I am up against AA or KK scared to death of the flush draw. Am I the only one? They are scared of an AKs, AQs, KQs, etc...

    Resuts:

Hand 1 As I said before, villain had J10 and made a hero call on the river but I still think it was a good play.

Hand 2 Villain had J10 and contrary to every post on this board, I feel the flop is a profitable play that gets a huge range to fold and should be used against solids very often. Thoughts/examples of this? Too bad I learned later this guy was a huge donk. I still wonder what would have happened if I pushed turn.

Hand 3 Villain had K5 suited. Not raising the flop I feel is too weak and gives the dreaded free card. Calling turn is meh/standard.

Hand 4 I shoved and he showed KK. Well played by him I guess I need to fold more often.
