Default Not sure if this was worth the risk.

Don't have the hand history, but it isn't really needed.

$1/$2NL cash game on Pokerstars, fairly strong table. I raise to $6 with 7-7 UTG, pretty good aggressive player calls next to act, an aggressive player who reraises a lot preflop makes it $24. He had done this at least a dozen times in under an hour, and I felt the caller widened his range even further. I think for a moment and reraise enough to put both villains all-in for $200. Bad play, right?

Why not wait to do this with a hand that would fair better against his calling range?

not a big fan of it given your image and position but it's probably a bit closer than most people would think.

it's great to have AA/KK/AK in this spot but we just have to work with what we've got! small-mid pairs/suited aces figure to have about 30% equity against any reasonable calling range so just figure out about what % of his range you think can be folded out and it's pretty simple to estimate the approximate EV.

from what i get from his posts, dsaxton probably has a tight / straight forward image, which makes the play pretty good

my experience is that most people tend not to 3-bet squeeze utg raises from tight/straight forward players with a big range, even if they have the appearance of 3-betting light.

Is calling out of the question?

No, that's probably what I should have done. But seeing around $40 in the pot, I decided to make a reraise that I felt he couldn't call most of the time.

I'd like it better if his raise was larger.

I'd like it better if your raise was from the CO.
Normally, even aggro players dont mess with UTG raises.
