Default Nut flush, non-paired board...and I puke myself.

Villian in this hand was a 44/17 donk but had been winning, more by getting lucky than anything.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (5 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

    UTG ($146.10)
    MP ($90.10)
    Button ($14.80)
    SB ($159.60)
    Hero ($263.65)

Preflop: Hero is BB with A, 9.
2 folds, Button calls $1, SB completes, Hero checks.

    Flop: ($3) 6, 5, K (3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $3, Button folds, SB raises to $6, Hero calls $3.

    Turn: ($15) 7 (2 players)
    SB checks, Hero checks.

    River: ($15) 3 (2 players)
SB bets $91, Hero PUKES HARDCORE STYLIE

    Thoughts on the hand:

    1) Bet the turn. I know this. If you feel the need to state the obvious, please do so.

    2) Can this be a fold *ever* here? Yeah he's a donk, but even donks don't make plays like this, like ever, without a straight flush here. Call or raise hoping it was a misclick, or fold?

EDIT: Notice the K is out there on the board for all to see...

Turn check is fine, call the river.

He's making a play, a bad one at that. He likely has a 10 or higher diamond or two and thinks you had AK. Donks love to think we have AK. He missed the C/R on the turn and min-raised the flop looking to get some more in. He sees the river as his last chance and isn't putting you on the A. He probably has something like QTs.

If he has the 4, well...nh. But I'm not folding here, it's just one of those hands I pay off and hope to make back later.

I call it because fuck you and your push donkey! He's an idiot who thinks he is pushing you off a shared hand in most cases. I don't give that much credit to 100NL players.

You need to win here about 50% of the time. I really don't think you are. I'm never going to assume a huge overbet push is a bluff more than 20% of the time, if that.

I knew he didn't have 8 9 because he definitely would have raised preflop...and I couldn't really put him on a range that said he couldn't have the 4 , because it was SB vs. BB.

This was "one of those hands" where I knew I was beat but talked myself into a call, because frick, I've got the nut flush and that is the nuts!

And on second thought, not betting the turn was okay. I was being results oriented. Most of the time checking there will get me a little more money. And that's what it's all about.

In this case, it cost me more, as villian had 4 2 .

I'd never fold here, here is one reason why.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ Hero (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

    Hero ($200)
    UTG ($299.53)
    MP ($410.65)
    CO ($254.20)
    Button ($308.43)
    SB ($231.45)

Preflop: Hero is BB with A, 8. SB posts a blind of $1.
4 folds, SB (poster) completes, Hero raises to $6, SB calls $6.

    Flop: ($16) J, 4, 9 (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $12, SB calls $12.

    Turn: ($40) K (2 players)
    SB checks, Hero checks.

    River: ($40) 3 (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $30, SB calls $230.45 (All-In), Hero calls $198 (All-In).

    Final Pot: $396.45

    Results below:
SB has A Q (flush, queen high).
Hero has A 8 (flush, ace high).
Outcome: Hero wins $396. SB wins $2.44.

I agree, if you can get a smidge of value from the Queen from a turn check its not bad

Are you serious...I think i might find a fold here 75% of the time and make a crying call the other 25%.
