yea fold preflop is best, you are out of position and in general, people dont reraise preflop without hands that dominate you

now that you go this flop i think going allin is best

Until you have reason to believe otherwise, you won't give up much if you assume this.

chard, by "new game" are we talking cash or the stakes?

if by "new game" you mean NL cash then I think youre probably starting a little high. There are some pretty capable players at 200NL and I dont know if the number of fish will make up for that.

Still if you want to go with it then gl & hf

My bankroll is the amount of money I would spend or lose before I got a job. It is calculated by adding my net worth to whatever I can borrow.

What do you think of him? He seems like a spaz to me but I've never been able to make a hand against him.

This isn't true really. At Stars 1/2, most of the regulars (including the villain in this hand) do quite a bit of re-raising preflop. Some of them are quite good, but a lot of the other ones don't really know what they are doing. If you're at a table of regulars these days, you can beat them simply by having a superior pre-flop game. I include myself in the list of people who doesn't really know what I'm doing, because in the past I've just raised hands that look pretty when I'm in late position, and re-raised hands that look pretty when the raiser is an aggressive blind stealer. These days I'm putting a lot more thought into my hand ranges for raising and re-raising, depending on who my opponents are. I'm experimenting with just shoving over re-raises with a slightly wider range of hands that includes AA and KK most of the time. Overall, I think you'll struggle in this game if you assume a re-raise means QQ+, AK.

As for the hand, it'll be hard to show a profit calling a re-raise out of position with AQo. Post-flop you should probably just shove over his continuation bet, and if you were in position, the whole hand would be standard.

preflop is really hard to comment on. Mucking is fine against an unknown, but I'm not happy about it.

I think pushing here (??) is the best play. If I were playing against a player such that a big set was a huge concern for me, I would feel much better about mucking this pre.
