Default Omfg - KK facing turn push

Villain is 20/13, seems like a decent player, better than most I face on a daily basis. He is on two of my tables but we really haven't butted heads yet or anything. I don't think he is the type of player who calls my reraise preflop with say a weak suited ace, nor do I think he pushes the turn with a set here. His aggression factor is only 1.5 over 150 hands, but he isn't terribley passive either. With all of this said, what's the best decision and most likely hand he has?

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

    Button ($95)
    Hero ($205.35)
    BB ($199)
    UTG ($145.35)
    MP ($328.62)
    CO ($452.29)

Preflop: Hero is SB with K, K. Hero posts a blind of $1.
1 fold, MP raises to $7, 2 folds, Hero (poster) raises to $23, 1 fold, MP calls $17.

    Flop: ($50) 6, 4, 2 (2 players)
Hero bets $37, MP calls $37.

    Turn: ($124) A (2 players)
Hero checks, MP bets $150, Hero ???

I think you have more than enough behind to get away from this hand. W/ the pot laying you 2:1, I'd say that he is more likely than 1:2 to have AK or AQ, less likely to have AJ if he is a decent player. My guess is he smooth-called the flop because he didn't want to give you automatic credit for an overpair, and then got a piece of the A on turn... A set is also possible here, and maybe he thinks you got a piece of the A and were planning a c/r on turn? Less liekly scenario is that he's overbetting pot to take out any weird straight draws.

I can't seem to make sense of this line.. does he want to push you off with a weaker hand.. or is he playing a monster (like AA that just turned into the nuts) like that in hopes of getting a call?

you either missed that hes an idiot and called the flop bet with Ace high or you had him smoked anyway and hes holding a pp and most likely trying to buy it.

I cant see AA here too often and you were going bust anyway but now youve got a way out of the hand with the ace flopping.
As said, hes either an idiot or hes well behind.

He can be certain that flop missed you, so floating with an Ace isn't a horrible play by him. Then you check the turn. If you had a hand you would have led and he probably knows based on seeing you play on two tables. I think you should fold, even though he could have 55 or something. You only have one pair and the chances of him having an ace or a set seem high.

you guys are thinking about the villian's range too much. hero's line is AK half the time yet villian puts money in the pot anyway. this is usually a fold unless villian has seen you usually bet AK in spots like this.

Rather neglectible in a preflop raised and reraised pot.

Well I ended up folding, but I gave serious considerations to calling because I couldn't put him on a hand. He wasn't the type to call a big flop bet with no pair no draw, so I thought AK was unlikely. He said he had A6, and I believe him. That was the one hand I thought was most likely by the way it played out, even though his preflop call was very loose.

Seems like Gabe was right then. He put you on an ace and hoped for a call. Educational thread.
