Unfortunately no reads, this was one of my first hands at the table. I interpreted his flop & turn check as low-mid PP, since this kind of board would have been bet by most overcard combos after my flop check-behind: AJ, AQ, AK, KQ, KJ, etc. (thinking of martins players)
I don't like my turn bet either, and I really really feel that I should have bet the flop. I remember thinking at the time that only premium hands would have called my 8E preflop raise, and so I was behind, but this is flawed thinking. Call it scared if you will.
