b) Did you like my river reraise?

You probably had a flush and you figured the guy had a straight. So you slowplayed it.

You had Kxs or Axs of hearts. Good river bet for value, maybe bet a little more though.

On the turn I would have re-raised with the flush draw, since that enables you to get a free river card 80% of the time.

well you guys sniffed that one out pretty quick. i had q5 of hearts in the bb. i didn't put him on kxs or axs, so i was fairly confident my flush was good.

how much more could i have gotten out of him on the river though? and would reraising the turn give my hand away since i check/called, check/reraised?

i thought waiting to the river gave me the best chance to disguise my hand. maybe he thought i had JJJ or something? i don't know. but with a straight he probably would have called a little bit more, like $10 maybe?

Lead the flop. Check-calling is such an obvious draw line. Leading builds the pot for when you hit and does a better job of disguising your hand. The turn action could have been really good here with both of you hitting your draws at the same time, maybe getting it all-in by the river.

I usually bet all streets (excl pf). Don't know if it's optimal. I hate slowplaying flushes too.

this seems to make sense. if i bet the flop, and then the turn, he probably would have reraised making his 6-T straight, then i should 3bet him all-in correct? unless he raised a significant amount, i don't think that would work and he would fold though. but the river would improve his hand even more, and i could get another chunk out of him.

so i did leave a decent amount of money on the table here. is it always apropriate to bet your draws when you are fairly certain a made draw will give you the nuts?

That's the general idea.You'd be worried about a higher flush in this instance but, yes, assuming you didn't lose your nerve you could get it all-in.
