playing post flop after 3-betting 88 ($100NL, PP)

He's on two of my tables. 16/13/3 over 90 hands. Only other hand I've had with him was where I raised PF with 66 and he cold called with QQ. I flopped a set and bet it (low board), he raised me 3x, I pushed, and he called.

What's the best play on the turn? If I check, do I fold to a bet? If I check, what's my river play if he checks behind?

I would check-fold vs this guy; his range is crushing you as it is. Those are some nitty stats.

I'd prefer not to 3-bet vs this guy. If you're gonna do it, don't waste a "good" hand on where all you do is fold out his worse hands and get OOP vs his better hands.

3-bet with Ax, SC's and stuff where you can actually get better hands to fold and have some equity when called.

If he's prone to 2-barrel you post flop then go for lots of flop CR's if you don't wanna call down light or else take the call flop-lead turn approach (I prefer CR flop).

If he's sane, then I'd suggest just calling lots of flops and folding when he bets turn, rivers are tricky...

Pre-flop is fine. I think calling is a lot worse because he's not the sort to give amazing implied odds, particularly if we're OOP. I also don't hate a check/fold on the flop if he's calling 3-bets tight and not 4-betting his best hands.

Yes. You're still not stacking him a large % of the time on 8xx boards. He'll miss with AK, pot control and laydown with AA/KK/QQ or over-set you often enough to make this a bad call out of position.

A 13%ish PFR is high enough that he figues to be opening hands on the button he won't call a 3-bet with. Or if he's not folding to the 3-bet then you have a profitable c-bet. Use the pot you built with your aggression then to put yourself in a position where you really can stack him on 8xx boards.

i think you played it good but yeah just give up at this point.

Although it weirds me out that there are quite a few spots like this and most of them seem like give up spots.

You played it well but now just check/fold. I don't think he is folding to a push. Especially not after your 66 hand.

If villain has a tight 3-bet calling range I also lean towards c/f flop. His preflop stats look decent, for what it's worth, at least they don't show any looseness.

If villain could be calling preflop with AK and sorts and folds it on a flop like this, betting is good ofcouse.

If you really wanna rep AA/KK you have to shove turn, but I don't think villains range is wide enough, and the board scary enough, for you to have enough FE.
