Now do this for every hand for every player that is in the hand, for every player at the table, for every table that you are playing at. Try and eight table while doing this exercise. Put effort into every single hand that is played out at your table, not just the ones you are involved in, every single hand. Every time there is a showdown, and the losing hand is mucked, open up the hand history file, and see what he had. Go through the hand again and see if you can figure out why he willingly showed down a losing hand(something that should rarely be done.) ...
but this should be done on every single hand that is played out at any of your tables for the rest of your poker career. This is how you become a real player.

it s a bit cheezy and kind of "zen and the art of "X"esque" but it's as close to what I imagine being the optimal approach to poker as I ve ever seen posted on one of the main sites.

This shit is *key* And it is FAR more difficult online with all the easy distractions of the interweb.

Its along the same lines as what i've recommended for some time -- video tape yourself playing and verbally explain why youre doing what youre doing and i can practically gaurentee good results simply because youre forcing yourself to take into account so many things that you just dont do when youre on autopilot.

So many players (myself included) will play 10 hands and at the end of it not even remember any of the two cards they had.

I think in the past this wouldn't benefit me whatsoever.
Right now it would benefit me a ton.

I think he's spot on about "how you become a real player." So many poker players are winners but aren't "Real" players in the sense that they don't actually understand the game. People who understand the game realize how important every single hand is.
