I'm sorry but thats a horrible slow play. I don't think i can ever think of a situation where you should slow play an over pair, especially on a draw heavy flop. I'm not saying i wouldn't end up putting my money in the centre, but you have to bet the flop to protect your hand. Also, just pushing allin and over betting the flop is a good way to get top pair to fold and only be called by better hands.

It sounds a bit harsh, and you did the right thing by losing your money there but you should have gotten as much of your stack in on the flop as possible.

You can't smooth call with that flop and you can't push when the flush draw hits on the turn. Re-raise big on the flop.

Yea, randomly overbetting the pot is a good way to get stung by a lot of hands that beat yours. Betting like that on the flush card may have been good if you had a flush since he saw you bluffing, but with an overpair it's a good way to get busted. What's he going to call you with that you're beating? A9?

Wanting to push him around is a good thing, and maybe you could have gotten him to call you with a weaker pair but what I think you're really looking for in this situation is a fold.

He may very well have called with A9. Even T9 or J9 or even K4o I could see >.>

I agree, however, smoothcalling the flop and giving the free card was a terrible play.
