OK, looks like everyone agrees I should bet higher all the way and see what he wants to do on the river - which is what I usually do. For some reason I felt like I was ahead on the river - maybe it was the non-reraise on the turn. I can't explain why, but I trusted my gut feeling and called. Dude flipped over A7 SPADES!! I was expecting a set minimum. This goes way against how I initially perceived him. Unless he was just confident in reading me and knew he could push me off the hand when scare cards hit. Who knows.

GUT FEELING/READS:
I trust my gut feeling more these days - especially at 6max when people make plays that just don't add up. The above may be a poor example. Last week I had a gut feeling that some guy was bluffing me out of a medium-large pot. But when I looked at the board there were str8 and flush possibilites and I was holding a set. I went against my gut and let him take it. He showed his cards to confirm I should have trusted my read. I know this happens often, but when I go with my feeling I'm getting good results. Fnord has mentioned several times to trust reads despite the board. I catch people all the time now that I follow my gut. I'm wrong many times too, but overall I'm profiting more because of it. Anyway, like I said - this may not be the best example but learn to trust yourself. I would post more examples of going with my gut but geting HHs from this site is a chore, especially when 3tabling.
