    Default Question about AA

Following Situation came up yesterday on FTP. I am at work, so i cant post the HH.

    AA

We are about 150BB deep, Villain raises 3,5BB from the button, I make it 14BB, he calls.

Pot now is at about 28BB.

    Flop comes Td4d8c

I bet 22BB and get raises to 60BB.

What to do now? Is calling an option? or do i have to push and hope not getting owned by a set?

How would this change, if instead he would have pushed the flop? Would i have to call?

Do you have any reads / stats on him?
    And what stakes?

10NL, he is about 400bb deep, im 150bb deep.

He is running 18/14 for about 150 hands.

don't fold this, even when he open pushes

I usually just shove. Calling, intending to shove over his turn bet is my second option. I very rarely fold Aces and rarely get stacked with them.

My current DB has 140 AA hands, 2 folded, 3 where I lost 75bb or more, 12 where I won 75bb or more. Of those 3 hands, one was a KK suck-out all-in pre-flop, one was a set and the last was a hand where he caught 2 pair from a flopped flush draw on the river with half of the money already in the pot.

Doyle's line about winning a small pot or losing a big one with Aces is one of the worst pieces of advice ever written in a poker book.

If I never was delt AA & KK, I would be a net loser at NLHE.

oh well, then u got more lucky than me... actually i lost like 300bb in the last 10 AA hands,

    make this 450...

    Im cursed or something...

btw. AA/KK are actually my biggest losers by far...

btw. by saying never fold AA... isnt that as if you'd say never fold TPTK?

    AA > TPTK

I wouldn't say that I never fold AA, just rarely in spots where I almost can't be any good against most reasonable holdings. I've also checked behind a few turns and called river bets in spots that looked pretty terrible.

There is probably some merit to me running good. Also I'm probably playing for stacks with it less often in games where people tend to fold weaker hands, hence less variance.

Button I've already seen play a couple bit pots.
    SB is an ABC TAgg

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (4 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

    Fnord ($100)
    Button ($336.55)
    SB ($236.85)
    BB ($100)

Preflop: Fnord is UTG with A, A.
Fnord raises to $3, Button calls $3, SB calls $2.50, 1 fold.

    Flop: ($10) T, Q, K (3 players)
SB checks, Fnord checks, Button checks.

    Turn: ($10) 7 (3 players)
SB checks, Fnord checks, Button checks.

    River: ($10) A (3 players)
SB checks, Fnord checks, Button bets $5, SB folds, Fnord calls $5.

    Final Pot: $20

I think its sillier you call river than not betting flop

If he has a set he's maybe overplaying the hand - almost anyone would call here with a set, I think. This line looks much more like an overpair to me, JJ or QQ most probably, and I think you're ahead often enough to call/push.
