I don't know what hand you're referring to, but I don' bet here, unless I'm sure AJ is so far ahead of the shorty's range that I have the best hand and am betting for protection vs CO.

Any read on CO? If you think a lot of his range is pocket pairs and missed high cards (and I think that's a good guess) - AND if you think he will fold a lot of those to a bet - then betting is good, I think. You have limited equity now but probably good equity vs. just the short stack, so if you can get CO off of his 44/55/77/99/TT/JJ/AK/AJ, bully for you. You also obviously don't mind protecting against/folding out his worse hands, which are mostly going to be drawing to at least 6 outs vs. your ace high.

I always make that assumption when a guy with such a tiny stack is involved.

I don't mind a bet at all. CO will fold a bunch and you get to freeroll shorty's AT or 88 or AK or whatever

If I was to represent this pseudo-mathematically wouldn't it look something like this:

The % of the time the CO folds I win my pot equity versus the shorty. When he doesn't fold I win my pot equity versus both players together.

    Right?

this is worse than cbetting against two players since you don't get to pick up the entire pot, though

    We're behind a small pair

Ya thats what I mean by winning my pot equity vs the shorty.

problem is, i think the times you are called, your pot equity will be much much worse, and the times you get a fold, you will have risked a decent sized bet w/ an extremely marginal hand to gain a small % of equity against the all in player (given that if CO folds, it's unlikely he had a hand that had you beat anyways). maybe you fold out a small pair, i just think it's almost never worth it. better line might be to c/b flop and bet any turn that improves your equity, particularly if CO checks again.

its a weird spot. i think TT is a bet. we aren't sure if we're ahead, but can definitely be called by worse, and can also fold out hands that have an overcard against us. i'd probly wanna bet the flop and c/b turn and river
