    Default Role reversal

    stars 200NL 6-max, 6 handed

    eff stacks $225

villain is Lukieplaya, a real solid, fairly tight, agressive player. He's turned it up a few notches the past few hands though. I'm playing at 41/15, although I probably have no idea what this means.

UTG limps, UTG+1 folds, I limp with black 6's, button limps, SB completes, Lukieplaya in the BB raises to $12, UTG calls, I call, button calls, SB folds. 4 to the flop. The game is kind of fishy, but it's rare that this much money goes in preflop.

    Flop A65 rainbow. Checks through.

Turn Q, completing the rainbow. Lukieplaya leads for $25. 1 fold, I minraise to $50, 1 fold, Lukieplaya 3-bets to $100, I call.

    river 8, Lukie pushes for $113, I insta-call.

Can we get away here? Is it not blatantly obvious what Lukie has?

he definitely cant get away becayse you know he is a fish, so you could be playing AQ and maybe even AK this way

heh, I agree that hero in this hand isn't getting away with what is effectively the 3rd nuts, but I don't think I'm ever playing AQ/AK this way. Also a lot of money went in preflop which would make it even tougher.

I'd imagine that a player who knew me very well might be able to get way from a set of 6's to the turn 3-bet. Maybe I'm a predictable nit or whatever, but I can't see myself ever playing a hand this way that isn't QQ. Maybe even AA but I doubt it.

I agree with betting the flop.

bdawg, if you played 66 this way pf and on the flop, would you consider dumping it in this hand on the turn (river?) if you were playing me?

I meant for the 66 guy to bet the flop. And yes, I think a strong case could be made for a laydown if pf and flop were played like this. In a 4-way raised pot, I don't think you will be getting out of line much.

The only hands that make any sense are Q-Q and A-A. 6-6 should fold the turn if he raises and gets reraised.

lukie knows hero is aggro, so he could play AQ or AK like this sometimes if he knows they bet when checked to in big pots

bah... I see what you all are saying, but I still cant wrap my brain around the idea of folding your set in a pot so big pf. Sure he shoulda bet the flop, and then got all in on the turn. As played it seems still obvious that you just get it in on the turn, even after hte 3bet.

am I just a super fish?
You-- yes, you-- you're a cunt.

I never said that Lukie knows that this hero is agressive. If anything, I think this hero trys to stay away from Lukie b/c he is far and away the best player at this table.

Lukie wouldn't ever play AK/AQ like this. Maybe he should? (not a rhetorical question, I'm genuinely interested in your thoughts.)

In hero's position, I'd probably play the turn and river the same way. I don't see the point in pushing over the turn 3-bet, however. Position is beautiful, and the board is about as dry as you are going to see on the turn.

am I just a super fish?
yes and it has absolutely nothing to do with your above advice.
