Default Sauce VS Gabe HU- Questions

So we finished the match and were about dead even at the end with rake/Lukie being the only winners. Even so I had a sick time and learned a lot and there were a ton of interesting hands.

Ok, so for everyone who watched and/or datamined the match, post whichever hands you guys want (or hands ppl posted on the other thread) and I'll explain why I did what I did and I assume Gabe will chime in at some point.

NH when you had quad 10s.

    What did gabe call with?
when the vpip's are high and the value bets are like razors, who can be safe?

When you're playing HU vs. someone who blurs their air and their real hands, how do you tell which one's which? Are there small subtleties in the lines that change slightly depending on the hole cards?
  5. #5
good players have air much, much less often than they have some kind of guttshot to the nuts/draw/strong hand. What they do is blur their hand ranges so that when they bet the turn with a range of (gutshot+bottom pair+ 2pair+trips+air) I cant call with top pair no kciker and lose a lot of value vs a more predictable player.

if a good player is putting lots of money into the pot with air often against you, you probably have some glaring weaknesses in the balance of ur game/ ur lines.

Regarding the AA hand, where 300bb deep gabe tripled barreled you with air.
I know you already explained this to me but i think it would be good for the other posters to explain why you took a passive line.

Also the 65 hand where you overbet your straight would be good for other posters.

Gabe can you explained why you c/r bluffed here as opposed to calling when u had SD value? Is it because you think sauce can't call because of preflop?

    1) how many hands did you play?

    2) final results? (gabe told me on the phone that he finished up 100 if i remember correctly, making me the winner of the game after playing 3 hands)

    3) sorry about the interruption i caused.

    4) if you want to multitable hu sometime, i'd be interested.

    5) good comeback

Gabe- Here I feel like you really didn't play the hand like a monster, the only hand he could put you on is a backdoor flush so i didn't understand why you were bluffing here, although sauce seemed to have a hard time calling.

sauce, how many hours a day, on average, would you say you have to ice down your ball sack? I mean, it has to get really sore from ISF dangling from it all day.

    also, nice comeback.

sure i played it like a monster...

i had been check raising like crazy, so flop play could easily be monster.

we had both been always betting $8 into the $12 pots, so thats what i did on turn.

most hand he pays off a monster on the river with, he probably bets for value, so I c/r bluff trying to get him to fold something good

he had not been raising top pair in reraised pots so i thought it was against a set or a draw. i hate folding shit in reraised pots so i juts decided i was going to push a blank turn, check call the Td, and check fold the other diamonds

  24. #24
did you guys make any special adjustments when you had $1200 and the other person had $200, and vice versa?
  25. #25
Hyper- 1200 vs 200= 200 vs 200 except for u can buy a baller watch with the money not in the effective stacks

    lukie-

    1) 3629
    2) i finished down 100, gabe finished down 650, winner was you and pokerstars friggin rake
    3) np
    4) yea ill definitely do that, once my brain isnt so fried and i should maybe put some time into making money
    5) thanks

ISF- I could 4bet light occasionally as Gabe was only shoving AK, maybe KK once in awhile over my 4bets and he was also folding a lot of hands to my min 4bets as I had been lucky enough to sd good hands mostly even though I had been 4bet bluffing a lot.

i never really had good hands vs your 4 bets, im pushing alot more than AK KK AA though...didnt I push KQ once? after that gets shown down i'm definitely pushing a huuuge range

I'm confused, shouldn't you be pushing a tighter range? Or it kind of a reverse psychology thing "He wouldn't push here loosely since he showed down crap."?

i meant huge compared to AA KK AK

another thing to add about it: we started getting so deep i stopped wanted to get into preflop pissing wars and see some flops
  29. #29
gabe- i mean u obviously are pushing a wider range than that, what I mean is I thought in general ur strategy was to see more flops which meant i tended to push it preflop a little more than I would someone else.
