no info about the guy, just a few hands in, no pt either.i suspected he must have tptk or overpair, i raised the flop to protect it from draws against the bb. after that i went all in thinking he'll call but i think i should have bet him all in little by little. how do you play sets like this when you have position? i don't think it was completely wrong since i've seen all in calls with much worse hands (he said he had AQ) at NL 25-100.

Sets hit the flop so infrequently (something like 7-to-1), if Im going to call raises with a middle PP, I want to milk my opponents TPTK or overpair when i do. Even on this scary board I would have raised the flop a little less hard whilst still offering poor odds to the draw. Pot-bet the turn, and if he calls, he cant damage you with his stack even if he hits the river, so id pay him off.

    utg raises preflop
You can milk this unless you know hes capable of raising something like T9 (AT is a possibility here also)
You have to try extract here imo rather than scaring him away from the board if he has tpgk

Yeah you need to value bet this board and price him in. He probably has AQ here or an overpair, and if he has AQ he's drawing dead, and drawing slim to hit his overpair. The board is somewhat coordinated, but it was a raised pot, so it's unlikely he has a hand like T9 or something. I don't see how you're beat here, and I don't see any cards that could lose you this hand. I might have checked the turn actually after I raised the flop to get some more money out of an AQ.
