Default Table Selection Super Awesome Post

So I started playing head's up recently and am digging it.

I am playing the $50nl on FT fwiw.

If this is covered elsewhere please point me in the right direction.

I am trying to figure out what players to start playing against and also when I should leave a table and find a new opp.

I often start against people with irregular stack sizes such as $39.20 or w/e and I always buy in full. My logic (could be stupid) is that good/experienced players are topping off to get full value against fish.

I won't play anyone who is up more than 2 buy ins already sitting at a table or anyone sitting full stacked at multiple tables.

I don't datamine, have a hud etc. I do take notes on most opponents. Usually like "spewwy retard play him" or obv tendencies etc..

I have trouble leaving tables when I am losing. I read somewhere (the Digest?) to leave if you are having trouble with an opp even someone you think is bad. I want to try an get my buy in back usually. Should I set a cutoff?

Any other tips, suggestions about this in general is greatly appreciated.

I've recently started liking HU too - cheers!

Think hard about table selection - leave any table at which you are an underdog. Stay at any table at which you are a favorite.

This kind of self-evaluation (seems to me, so far) can actually be harder HU, but even more important for obv reasons.

I wouldn't try to table select that much because if you can't beat any of the regs at 50nl you shouldn't be playing it in the first place. The rake is just way too high.

I agree with a two buyin stop-loss. It's just very easy to tilt in HU and it's important to be on your A game.

It's fine not to use a HUD if it helps you get a better feel for your opponents.
