Default top pair open ended straight...

Not many hands at this table so no reads on villain. He took a long time before reraising me on the flop. After the fact I think I should have shoved the flop or the turn.

    any thoughts?

    you're almost never way ahead

Also, usually taking a long time before raising is someone convincing themselves not to slowplay.

On the flop, what range are you putting him on, and why does it make sense to bet out into it? I'm not really sure what this accomplishes other than potentially having to deal with a raise that you have to call.

From a buton raiser I put his range as fairly wide even with not many hands with him. Something like 22-AA, A9o/s-AK and High suited connectors like J10 and above. At the time i figured it would be a scary board for about half his range and i'd get raised from the other half. Now that I actually look at his range its a little more than 2-1 that i'm getting raised. With that said I think a raise of somewhere around a little more than a 1/3 of the pot is fine as I only have to win 1 out of 3 to make this profitable and if I am correct about his range than i will win 1 out of 3. I dont think check folding an open ended straight and top pair is the right play.

Are you saying you think you should bet / raise the flop? Why?

I just check-call the flop. You are often behind in these situations given preflop action, and even when you aren't, you gain nothing from aggressive action.

yea i think you played it well. Bet/3bet can be ok if he folds AK but at 200nl i think ur line is probably best.

folding/raising pre is obviously ok also
