Default Turning 88 into a bluff. Spew?

dude is 23/18/3 3bet % of 5.4 (200hands). He's pretty aggro, and seems to be pretty bluffy. I have a note that say's C/r me on flop with air...hit q on turn with med kick and sent me to value town.
Im kinda discounting flush draws from his range cause he tends to play them aggresively.

    Is this bad?

    Stacks:
    BTN Sly with AK ($60.95)
    SB nertz ($50.00)
    BB Hero ($66.20)

    Pre-flop: ($0.75, 3 players) Hero is BB
Sly with AK raises to $2, nertz calls $1.75, Hero calls $1.50

    Flop: ($6, 3 players)
nertz checks, Hero bets $4, Sly with AK folds, nertz calls $4

    Turn: ($14, 2 players)
    nertz checks, Hero checks

    River: ($14, 2 players)
nertz bets $10, Hero raises to $23

I really doubt he's folding an A here as he probably isn't having a very weak one in his range. He probably neither has a 9.
You beat his air hands, so if you don't want to fold, calling seems best.
    Raising seems spewy to me.

raising accomplishes nothing that calling does not

With this aggro villain I was thinking insta-call. The river raise will only invite callers from better hands and fold out worse ones. Just in case he missed his turn CR don't give him another shot at it.
Playing live . . . thanks alot Bin Laden.

I think when you raise the river this amount on this card your range is 100% bluffs.

What if i knew he had a hand that couldnt stand a raise, like a 9, or mid pp. Wouldnt raising be the better option? It would add tilt effect and possibly fold out 9's? I know im stretching it...but mmm.

If you know he had a 9 or mid PP here, fair enough.
But on this board with this action it's very unlikely he's holding one of those.

I wud fire turn and check behind (or fold if he donks) river most times here.

his value betting range almost certainly does not include hands less than Ax
