I understand the frustration at the weak little bets on the flop, but I think the move here is to just call the flop. You have 2 overs and 2 decent redraws, if someone gives you 19:1 pot odds just take it.

From the rest of the hand, my best guess is that he had AXh, put you on an 8 until you checked the turn and river and figured you were bluffing and would fold - or a high was good.

I have seen $50NL players here turn up with REALLY good hands on the river (K8, J9) and I just laugh at their pitiful extraction ability.

I play exactly that game (iPoker 50NL), and 75% of the time they fold when you raise that mindonkbet. I have no fucking clue why they do it, but the eurofish ALWAYS mindonkbet.. Sometimes it's top pair, most of the time it's something stupid like a donkbet..

I think I play it the same, although it could well not be the optimal way of playing it.. I think on the river he showed you semi-air (like 44 or JT), really stupid overpair, or 97.

I've seen a lot of those min-bets lately on Pokerroom. Basically what I've figured it to be is a fish block. It's how they say they want to check but they think a min-bet will scare you. So stupid. He probably had a heart draw or A high hand.

    Marry Me Cheryl!!!
why are we trying to out think fish?

Id prob just call on the flop lead the turn and block the river folding to a raise at most stages.
If he's doing stupid shit like betting 50c into a $6 pot or w/e then hes a donk anyway and we dont need to get fancy with king high.

Bad. I just do my standard c-bet if I have something, and call it if I have a chance to outdraw him.

The two callers here could easily have an 8, and so could the bettor. Just give up the pot, it's ok! There will be money coming to those who wait.

    *** SUMMARY ***
    Total pot $27.80 Rake $1.45
    kagey: wins $27.80

    Medicus1 shows Ah Kc

Yep, those min-bets are the curse of low limit poker. But in retrospect I thought I'd fold out weak aces on the flop then wished I hadn't. Any value to be had out of small PPs? And yes I'll probably just call next time and take those min-bet odds. I think Massimo has this right why; waste time with this nonsense when he's going to give such good drawing odds in future.

Just react to it the same way you would if villain had checked.
