    Default Utility push?

Villain in this hand is a 2/4 semi-regular J0EBL0GGS. He seems like your average, unremarkable player. I don't think he's overly good but probably has an edge in the real soft games.

River play is kind of screwy. I'm pretty sure that I'm good and am making the push to try to get max value out of a 99-type hand. However, despite this, I do think there's a chance that he can give me credit for the boat that I'm obviously repping and may fold the unlikely KJ/KT sometimes.

comments on any street are cool (ie alternative lines) but I'm really looking for what the ideal play is on the river. I was thinking of doing something like 115, folding to a push (I thought it was highly unlikely that he'd ever push a worse hand and by default wouldn't do it often). This is so much more badass though.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $4 BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

    BB ($855.60)
    Hero ($629.50)
    MP ($476.15)
    CO ($408.85)
    Button ($400)
    SB ($416.40)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with 9, K.
Hero raises to $16, 1 fold, CO calls $16, 3 folds.

    Flop: ($38) 2, K, K (2 players)
Hero bets $28, CO calls $28.

    Turn: ($94) 4 (2 players)
Hero bets $72, CO calls $72.

    River: ($238) Q (2 players)
    Hero bets $513.5 (All-In), 293ish to CO

    Final Pot: $751.50

before i read this i thought to myself '100 and folding to a push seems good' but i would probably push AK and KQ on this river.

    I fold PF =P

Don't you think villain plays KT, KJ, KQ like this on such a safe board?

yes, but given that it's such a dry board, there are a ton of other hands that he can have here as well. Like I (think?) I said before, it's supposed to be a thin value push with the added benefit that I might be able to fold KT/KJ here sometimes as well.

Honestly, the queen isn't exactly the best card for this purpose because I think the psychological thing of having 2 overcards out, if he has a hand like TT will make it much less likely that he will call, even though I'm obviously never pushing a hand like QJ here.

so you want him to fold KJ but call with 99? that makes alot of sense

Do you have any history? What is your image? I think that expecting him to fold trips and expecting him to call with 99 are both ridiculous. I think a smallish value/block bet on the river is your best move here.

yes, there is certainly some chance that he will call here with 99, and there is a chance that he will fold KJ. It is perfectly logical for there to be some overlay. Logic would dictate that he would be likely to fold 99 and likely to call with KJ.

    think.
