Default Value with a weak hand at 25NL - line check

Villain who called is 20/12 but this was early before I had any reads on him. Other two were loose passive pf, no real postflop reads since I hadnt been at table long.

    $0.15/$0.25 No Limit Holdem
    5 players
    Converted at weaktight.com

    Stacks:
    UTG BigDocTonY ($18.45)
    CO ktm07 ($17.30)
    BTN flushmad ($17.95)
    SB PoTRiPPeR363 ($24.75)
    BB Hero ($27.80)

    Pre-flop: ($0.40, 5 players) Hero is BB
BigDocTonY calls $0.25, 1 fold, flushmad calls $0.25, PoTRiPPeR363 calls $0.10, Hero checks

    Flop: ($1, 4 players)
    PoTRiPPeR363 checks, Hero bets $0.60, 2 folds, PoTRiPPeR363 calls $0.60

    Turn: ($2.20, 2 players)
    PoTRiPPeR363 checks, Hero bets $1.50, PoTRiPPeR363 calls $1.50

    River: ($5.20, 2 players)
    PoTRiPPeR363 checks, Hero checks

I would normally lead about 0.70 on this flop, cant remember why I didnt, probably because 4-way I thought there was more chance I'd get raised and have to let it go.

fine, he completed from the sb so the likelyhood he has a draw rather than an ace here is high, gh.

Edit: just fold preflop, your playing against potripper { acronym renton hates}.

Without reads on my opponents I am probably never betting this four-way flop, and almost never the turn when called. If the flop is checked through I might bet...Once my flop and turn bets are called I can't see getting much value out of the river, so we show our hand and hope we win.

With a 20/12 read that you gained later I can see betting into him only, but probably never into four people...People just loooooove limping Ax and calling down at this level too much.

Looks fine by me. Flop bet is a little odd (2.4BB??) I would just go with $.75 if I was to bet at all...Check behind on river is fine, you can't handle much heat if villian decides to check/raise. Was there a street you had a question on?

I'm curious why are you worried about having to "let it go"? Really? If anyone else in this hand starts showing aggression, there's nothing to fight for in a 4-way limped pot...

ATOTHEC101: Folding PF would be pretty -EV in a limped pot from the BB...

qft! Get up and leave, you gonna get raped.

But I agree with UG on this. Normally I like leading limped pots with any piece. But not so much ones with an ace when there's 4 others in the pot with you.

It was early, but I already read potripper as a fairly decent tag, so I dont think he ever has an A here. Other two might, in which case I c/f turn if they call me.

Thats pretty much my point, if I'm gonna let it go, I might as well let a .6 bet go as a .8 bet.

I think we're missing value if we dont take stabs at pots like this sometimes.

Yeah, this gave me pause and is the best reason I've seen not to bet, but this doesnt need to work often to show profit.
