Default villain checks behind on draw flop = weak?

$100 stacks, 100nl 6 handed. new table, no reads. edit - assume villain is a floating type (could call flop with 22+, gut shot, etc.)

what do you think of the turn play, and what if the turn was instead?

    I have :As: :Ks:

    I raise UTG+1, BTN calls.

    Flop $8.5, heads up

    I check, he quickly checks

    Turn $8.5

I bet $6, he pauses and raises to $18, I quickly raise to $40...

what about a set, as in a missed flop check/raise, or maybe 22.

You would undebet the turn with a set? No chance. You need to C-bet this flop. Buttons calling range is not going to hit this flop any better than your hand did. Start playing then. He, on the other hand, may have 22.

Is this really worth cbetting if villain is likely to float with even a gut shot?
I think I'd have to fire two barells a lot of the time...or just check fold.

so I figured I'd try this out. I think a lot of ppl play the same with a set.

but maybe firing 2 barells is better than this?
