Default Warning: Contents contains MASSIVE value overshove

Best way to max value on such a fishy table? Im thinking one if not both can call this bet. How bad/good is this?

    $0.5/$1 No Limit Holdem

    Converted at weaktight.com

    Stacks:
    UTG ($103.50)
    UTG+1 ($92.10)
    CO ($100.00)
    BTN ($110.70)
    SB ($99.45)
    Hero ($113.35)

    Pre-flop: ($1.50, 6 players) Hero is BB
UTG calls $1, UTG+1 calls $1, CO calls $1, BTN calls $1, SB calls $0.50, Hero checks

    Flop: ($6, 6 players)
SB checks, Hero checks, UTG checks, UTG+1 checks, CO checks, BTN checks

    Turn: ($6, 6 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $5, 3 folds, BTN calls $5, SB calls $5

Sorry but I think this awful. What hand are they supposed to put you on?

I was hoping a weak flush trying to buy it or a pure bluff trying to push them off their 8 or 10. I figured they were strong enough to call a bet but to scared to come over the top. I dont see how anyone at the table could think I was doing this for value...so I concluded a shove.

this wouldnt be that bad if you had T8s/KTs. With the ace its just atrocious. When was the last time you did this as a bluff?
My bankroll is the amount of money I would spend or lose before I got a job. It is calculated by adding my net worth to whatever I can borrow.

I was gonna say this exact thing. I'd jam like this with the straight flush cause the nuts is in their range.

But even in that scenario a jam isn't necessary, cause he'd likely c/r the As if he checked it anyhow.

you're over-thinking things. Just make a normal value bet with the As of like $14 and get called by the Ks, Ts and some ppl who think you 're just stealing and wanna look you up cause you bet a reasonable amount.

def NOT the way to extract max value, just vbet 15-17

It's not about balance it's about maximizing value vs. their range. You put them on marginal hands trying to see a cheap showdown, and you went all-in for 5 times the pot. Just think about how little sense that makes.

right, im not suggesting you balance this line somehow. im saying, from your opponents perspective, how could they ever dream you were bluffing here?what motivation do you have to go all in as a bluff vs betting pot or slightly more? a lot of people at these limits dont have much of a thought process but they normally at least understand simple situations like this subconsciously.

its not AS bad though since u went all-in

going all in is so sick, i could really go on and on about this phenomenon but i'll apply some restraint.

Flushes are not concealed hands at all. Your idea is somewhat valid though if board is 48AK5 and u somehow got there with 67. But not here.

    +1

I agree with this. Overbet shoves are good when your hand is hidden and unexpected AND its likely that villain also has a strong hand that he can call with.

Here NEITHER of these things are true. Your hand is very obvious AND your opponent also doesn't have the nuts. (which is why jamming here with the straight flush makes sense, since he can have the As)

Would jamming here with the SF really make sense?

Seems like the As is pretty much always raising, and you still get more value from weaker flushes by betting closer to pot

We jam just to make sure

I remember seeing donks or even regs not raising As cuz (hes not calling with worse), so we jam just in case

yeah villain would have to be really near retarded to raise with the ace and no history

Would be funny if you got done by a straight flush

Only the King of Donksville is going to call with a weaker flush. I mean what on earth do you think they are going to put you on?

if no sf was possible (or you had it) then bet 100$ and type in chat 'oh shit'
