also, dont download pokerEV. its just another excuse to blame bad play on negative variance.

i downloaded this thing and it just made very little sense to me. it seems like its unless you want to devote hours figuring out its complex workings its a waste.

Have you actually used the program? This is like saying "I hate MSN - it's so annoying when people message me when I don't want to talk".

It's worth downloading only for the hand replayer which shows VPIP/PFR from the PAHUD cache plus EV by street. Also, the filters are really powerful and I suspect playing around with them and the Analysis graphs is much more helpful than the "15k hands in PT"-type checkups we are used to. If you've ever tried using the PT filters I'm sure you'll agree that they are a total PITA, PokerEV lets you look at those hands and their analysis graphs in a snap. Sure it takes some effort getting to know the software, but what software doesn't?

OP, you might want to check out the Tools of Poker subforum, that's where software discussions usually go.

I really dislike when people hate on free software that the author spends countless hours on, seemingly without even knowing what the software does.

Completely agree with Halvsame and it really took me like 15 minutes tops to get a pretty good grasp on the program.
