When is it time to leave a great table?

Default When is it time to leave a great table?

Here the scene, its me and 5 assorted rotating bad players, and I mean BAD. Eventually a bad Tag sat down, but still 4 BAD players. The worst one of the bunch is to my right(53/17 bets everything lite, doesn't fold much).

Big losses (all these pots were raised/reraised PF by me)
KQo v TT on T43K board: -60 bbs
    AJo v T5o on J55 board w/ pos:-88 bbs <-- SB v BB semi tilt.
    AA v 76s on J76 board: -100bbs
    QQ v A4o on A69A board:-33bbs

After about an hour this donk has a 400 bbs stack and I 've lost 500bbs. I still have the best seat at this great table. I checked out the other tables, and there is nothing close to being as good. My other tables are winning and I'm about BE overall. How long do you stay in this seat? Would you have already left?

You probably already know the answer to this one.

    Lots of irrelevant info btw.

Take this fwiw but is it is possible you are too aggressive with top pair against this type of opponent?
It seems like he may just be playing the "If you can beat top pair" in a raised pot strategy, & if you are going to pay him off almost a buy in on average everytime he hits I think he will continue to profit, with his playing style.

Sorry about the bad late night frustration post. I finally figured this donk out, then the table broke up. Also my PO is not calculating table +/- accurately after its new update, so I really have no idea how much I was down here. Does anyone have a serious answer to this question? I have seen posts where they advocate leaving if your not winning.

Leave when you're tilting. If your head is clear and you're playing well, ignore the bad beats, stay and stack. You need to fish when they're biting.

as a serious answer, I would say don't tilt. Most players are absolutely incapable of this though, so next best thing would be to keep it under control and don't make huge mistakes.

In that case, you shouldn't leave, no matter how good the whale is running. If dropping a few buyins worries you, you are playing too high. Also, sitting out is better then leaving when you're tilting, because you often aren't getting your seat back if a truly horrible player is spewing all over the place at the table.

    sit down and profit

leave if you feel you re getting outplayed, not feeling up to the task

the donks who stack you will typically play overconfident and overaggressive with your money so it should be particularly ez to win it back if you run decently at all.
when the vpip's are high and the value bets are like razors, who can be safe?

    I will answer seriously.

A.) When your lossess start to effect you mentally. If you can't honestly assess your self stop sooner than later.
B.) You have lost your maxium for the day. Some people set rules like, "Never lose more than 10% of your roll in a day".

It was cute how you managed to sneak in a couple of bad beat stories.

When you're doing badly, your opponents will often be inspired to play better against you. They will be bold, aggressive and willing to gamble with the loser. When you're running well, then tend to be more likely to be timid and passive.

true, great point...only recently I've been adjusting to that by tightening up after a bad run.
