He probably didn't limp in with jacks, kings, or aces, so the only hand that beats you is A8. Big reraise and trust the gods don't hate you by dealing him the cooler.

So you limped preflop with K8o? fold or raise but mostly fold.

A8 is definitely not the only hand he can have that he's value betting.

He can have KJ, AJ, a lot of random 8x. you effectively have the second nuts, keep putting the monies in.

this is easy raise imo
