Default Why do I fold here?

Villain is Jenn415, seems solid and quite tight and plays higher stakes up to 5knl

We played a bit yesterday, and after my preflop btn raise, I c/c three streets with an overpair and he showed an unimproved gutshot...

This is such a standard shove for him though, but yet I don't know how profitable it is to call here w/out any real reads.

Full Tilt Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $5/$10 Blinds - 5 Players - (LegoPoker HH Converter)

SB: $1,220.00
BB: $1,047.00
Hero (UTG): $1,252.00
CO: $1,417.25
BTN: $985.00

Preflop: Hero is dealt J K (5 Players)
[color:red]Hero raises to $35.00, CO folds, BTN calls $35.00, 2 folds

Flop: ($85) J 7 9 (2 Players)
[color:red]Hero bets $60.00, BTN calls $60.00

Turn: ($205) 6 (2 Players)
[color:red]Hero bets $125.00, BTN calls $125.00

River: ($455) 5 (2 Players)
Hero checks, [color:red]BTN bets all-in for $765.00, Hero folds
Uncalled bet of $765.00 returned to BTN

Pot Size: $455.00 ($3 Rake)
Nine to five is how to survive - I ain't trying to survive / I'm trying to live it to the limit and love it a lot //

Can offer RB deals on most sites, PM me.

i highly doubt he's shoving with worse so i like folding. Maybe a little more bet on the turn but this seems good.

based on your history he knows you're capable of playing medium-strength hands passively so he probably puts you on air here.

I prefer c/c or shoving to c/f. It could be a 2 outer on turn/river but oh well.

edit : I'm in a hyper-aggro river phase right now so my advice might be completely irrelevant here.
when the vpip's are high and the value bets are like razors, who can be safe?

sauce u think 5, 8, T are pretty much C/F rivers in this spot?

edit : cuz your reply made me think about what specific hand villain has here and 88 seemed to fit really well.

doesnt really matter what he has cause our hand is already overrepped by the time we get to the river and so if theres a one card straight out there he can be shoving sets for thin value, have the straight, or have the bluff, but we are getting less than 2 to 1 so we r toast

Lol this sucks.. from your description and the line you used, he must be pretty sure you have a so-so hand that can't stand pressure. So he could just shove you off of it. Ofcourse he knows that you know this, so could be for value too. So what I'm trying to say is, he probably knows what kind of hand you have (a one pair hand), while you don't know what he has since he's prolly shoving a good mix of bluff and value here..

I probably fold though because, thought processes aside, the board simply leaves too many options open that beat you..
