Why raise preflop?
Currently I'm playing a fairly donk-ish SST weekly in my area. Its not massive stakes, just between mates. I win 90% of the time lol, but I'm having difficulty trying to explain to my mates why they need to raise preflop, what hands they shoudl do this with and in what position. Its a full ring.
Obviously I know what hands I raise, but I'm having difficulty explaining what hands to play and positionality in an eloquent way. Can anyone be bothered to give me some pointers
Raising preflop
1) To increase pot size, so that your big hands will get paid off more often
2) Get the shit out
3) For information
any other reasons to raise preflop?
Hands wise, I'm usually raising a10+ 88+ from all positions, calling or reraising with marginal hands in LP such as 76s and low PP's
Plus occasionaly I'm getting roped in to raising up KQ/Q10 etc OOP as the game is so passive.
Just to give you a flavour of how weak/passive these ppl are....
One dude called a raise from me with QQ in the BB i was in LP?! Then just called me on the flop with a 537 flop and folded on the turn when i check raised him when a 6 came, what a n00b.
One guy doesnt raise AK and I said you should raise that PF, he said 'you think!?' LOL... I KNOW, MATE!
Yeah i want to keep winning.... but these are mates and I prefer to actually have to think about my hands and play some good ppoker, this is just silly.
