Default Worst call of my life?

I was 95% positive he was putting a move on me on the flop here and was deadset on calling him down. Is there any way I can make the call when he pushes the turn with a big overbet and a scarecard coming though?

if he was making a move, about which you were 95% certain, then for him to push in early position on the turn isn't really unexpected. it might have even been one of those moments where he decided to push no matter what card came. so if you thought he was making a move then you probably have to call there.

do you ever re-reraise the flop in situations like that? w/ AQ i actually like to raise again there. if he's messing around he'd better knock it off and get out of the hand. and then you don't have to get that damn K scare card out either.
In answer to your question... it depends...

agreed. Id reraise him big here. If he pushes then i fold to a suspected better hand, but my reraise tells him to get lost or put his chips in.
just cold calling his reraise caused the problem here imo.

I'm with you guys. The problem I saw was when you flat called his raise on the flop. For a start, you still have no real information on what kind of hand he has, or if the king helps him. By putting in a re-raise, you find out exactly where you are.

Moves like that always put the fear of trips into me or 1 gapped suited connectors, especially as playing on Paradise it seems lots of players are very tight and dont pull moves that I can see beyond playing sneaky hands into raises (I would rarely go all in on TPTK on a flop, maby i'm too tight). Is 77, 99 or 79s right out the window; i feel it is certantly a possability based on his betting up to the turn. He probably would have re-raised pre-flop with QQ, although I have been burnt a lot by people limping in AA shorthanded at the moment! Or perhaps his betting is too aggro for that, he would try to extract more value.....

Also short handed I may play KQ into a pre flop bet a bit like this, with those cards he may well feel he was ahead on the flop and you were bluffing, got the fear of AA on your flop call and felt he could nail up your AA on the turn?

See I just dont know any more! His re-raise on the flop is interesting slightly more than a double of your bet but not huge, its the sort of bet I would put out if I sensed a continuation bet. I agree with everyone else you need to raise him to about $20 and take it from there, if he pushed after the re-raise i could walk away rebuy and feel happy about it, get him next time! As it was I would fold to the turn push, you can pick a better time to get your chips in imo.

I play the same as villain with any two cards against a LAG player who has been continuing a lot. Raise his flop bet, if he smooth calls, slam a big bet in on the turn. You need to reraise here because you have a hand, protect your continuation bet for future hands by n ot playing this hand passively. Did you call the turn putting him on BS?

Here's the rest of the hand. In retrospect I think it was a pretty horrid call, though my read on the flop was dead on. Reraising the flop as suggested would've solved the problem, but when I make a big read like this (and usually I'm right when I do) I like to just call and give them more rope to hang themselves with.

luvspokah: this is either the worst or best call of my life
