I'd probably check behind the turn if I didn't pair up my 8 and get a nice boost of equity. This guy certainly isn't a fish that calls stacks off with something this weak, like ever, but he will stick it in when he thinks he's good (ie, here).
BTW, I had implied odds like mad on this hand, and I don't just mean the rest of his stack.
