Default Wow, what a sick hand reader (lc)

    Fuck. Villain is straate.

I'd probably check behind the turn if I didn't pair up my 8 and get a nice boost of equity. This guy certainly isn't a fish that calls stacks off with something this weak, like ever, but he will stick it in when he thinks he's good (ie, here).

BTW, I had implied odds like mad on this hand, and I don't just mean the rest of his stack.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $4 BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

    Hero ($386)
    SB ($856.80)
    BB ($436.10)
    UTG ($382.25)
    MP ($680.30)
    CO ($958.55)

Preflop: Hero is Button with 8, 9.
1 fold, MP raises to $16, 1 fold, Hero calls $16, 1 fold, BB calls $12.

    Flop: ($50) J, 6, 4 (3 players)
BB bets $16, MP calls $16, Hero raises to $115, BB folds, MP calls $99.

    Turn: ($296) 8 (2 players)
MP checks, Hero bets $255 (All-In), MP calls $255.

    River: ($806) 8 (2 players, 1 all-in)

    Final Pot: $806

    Results in white below:
    MP doesn't show.
Hero has 8d 9d (three of a kind, eights).
    Outcome: Hero wins $806.

    (villain mucked J9.)

    straate said, "omfg"
    straate leaves the table

I'd be looking at a few more stacks, if he didn't leave, in all likelihood. Remember what I said about implied odds?

that's really how it went, but he just missed it.

+1 cool point for Lukie, good job sir
btw, how many cool points would this be worth if I didn't have the diamond draw? Pretend I had a black 98 instead. 50,000,000?

Considering that he lives on the 2/4 6-max tables I like it.

It's pretty when he's on a couple of your tables and you see him suddenly leave before the blinds get to him because you know he just got pissed off about something on one of his other tables (ie. Luckie sucking out).
TheXianti: (Triptanes) why are you not a thinking person?

    Downswinging holla!
He really ought to raise the flop, and as played just fold to your raise. These hero calls in spots like this really aren't very good IMO. You're up against a big draw a lot or dead to a set. Even when he is ahead it's going to be hard to see a showdown unless he is regularly going to stack off here with TPNK vs a tag which really isn't good.

Not saying he isn't good but keep in mind showdown monkeys will pick off bluffs on occasion and look like geniuses.

    hahahaha, so true.

The guy cracks me up.. he used to be the biggest nit ever. I told him that on AIM when I had all but quit poker a few months ago, and when I came back, he was this lagtastic overaggro donkey that pushes around the large majority of players in the game.

If anybody wants free money, here are the steps:

Sit on straate's right. (yes right, not left).

Raise any 2 cards preflop. Verify that he triples your bet preflop and that nobody cold calls inbetween. Call.

    Check the flop.

Wait til he makes his 80ish% bet on the flop. Go all-in. Watch him fold.

    *Disclaimer*

Sometimes he will wake up with AA or top set. If it happens to happen on your first attempt, don't be discouraged. It's a massively +EV bet on any board and it's not even close.

    *Note*

variance has not gone my way with this fella and am probably down a couple grand against him. That does not change what is written above but I felt it was relevant to the discussion.
