This is a new thing lately that anyone with an underpair calls the preflop raiser down to the river. Even at tables where my play is unknown I can't take a pot down. Im gonna nut peddle for awhile and see what happens.

On the first one, aggression just for aggression's sake doesn't work so well at full table.

He's not minraising you there with AQ or AK, so getting him to fold might be troublesome.

On the first hand...Isn't the raise on the flop a sign that he has some form of hand? At that point did you think he was trying to take it down over you, or were you okay with raising him on the strength of overcards?

2nd hand, well, I'm new, but I would say yes, I'd bet $8 into a $48 pot with that hand in the absense of any read.

Four callers against AA is not a great place to be. Perhaps a bigger
PFR until you have a read?

I would have bet for information on the flop rather than the push-out bet you made. $8 would have been about right for me.

From there I would move slow. If he's slow playing a set he would
likely check, saving you money. I don't know if I would have called
his AI if it ever came at this point. I've layed down AA in the past
in similar situations and its bugged me for days. At least now you know
for sure. But once he sees you slow down he may try and value bet
you on the river.

You can't avoid tossing away money with this hand. But you should
try and minimize the damage.

I've read that AA is 85% against any random hand. With four callers
you are likely less than even odds to win a showdown with AA. So, perhas
you should have played the hand differently once 4 opps have looked
at the flop.

I think therubeguy really needs to take a look at how he plays low pocket pairs.

I've had the same problem in my home games lately. I have been playing too aggresively (with nothing) with scary boards and getting called by guys who just don't have a clue that low pocket pairs that are dominated by the board suck.

I think you need to adjust your style to account for this type of thing if you start seeing it, and exploit it when you have something.

First hand you gotta fold after you get raised on the flop. I know you're thinking "this guy sucks he doesn't have anything" but you don't have anything either, and he sucks so bad he can't be bought off. Just wait for a hand like the AA hand you played against him to take his money.

Second hand is impossible to lay down because of his small stack.

The 88 hand I would raise the flop. This seemed to work out for you though.

The AA hand against the QJ is standard.

AA v KK...nice when you're on the right side of that.

I think these opponents aren't the type that your super-aggressive style is best against, so slowing down and waiting till you have the goods is the way to go, because they will pay you off, as they eventually did.

PS - What rilla means is that typical fish don't raise with weak hands. Typical fish play simple poker. If they don't have much of a hand, they call or fold. If they do have a hand, they raise.

PPS - Send a few of those pocket Aces my way.

Why did you think he was weak in the first hand? Usually a check-raise is a sign of strength.

If I get check-raised when I'm on a total bluff like this, I just give up the pot unless I have a lot of outs or know that my opponent has very weak standards for check-raising. While you may occasionally be right that your opponent is weak in situations like this, you'll more often be wrong, which seems to make this a losing play.

In full table, weak players don't raise to test the waters or apply pressure. They raise because their hand is very pretty. In 6max, they may pull this move with nothing as a weak player becuase they have to. but with the much slower pace of full table, they never feel they need to fight for anything.

The players who are raising for a reason are aware players, if an aware player made that miniraise, you'd be very justified to put the screws on him.

Poker Now fucked me in the arse this week too. This is actually the worst streak I have ever had playing poker my entire life. Dropped about 500 at 50s. I was at like 4 thousand profit for may too when this shit started and didnt want to let up. Notice I get beat by quads not once - but fucking twice in like 1000 hands. Granted I slowplay about everything after the flop if I hit something nice but it usually doesnt screw me like it did the last 3 days - though i guess only one of these hands really got me cause a slowplay. KK was my biggest loser at minus 150. Well anyway take a look if u want - add any comments u want. This is the officially the worst streak I have had though strangely enough this was still my most profitable poker and related activity month of all time. Least for almost all those hands I was the one laying the heat down it just seemed someone always had me beat and if they didnt they beat me with the next card.


This guy was retarded and i saw him lose it on another table right after he won it off me going all in with K2.

Shit yea I can. About half of this downswing took place on paradise where I didn't keep hand histories but I've got plenty of horribleness I could show you from my party database.

I started out with a + $800 run at paradise last week, lost half of it there, went to party to get that bonus and proceded to lose the rest of my original profits. I guess you could say I'm on an $800 slide considering the fact that I have nothing to show from that bonus.

Also, I think you're overbetting some of your hands. Randomly going allin with KK on the 858 flop is just gonna get you called by better hands. I know the pot was probably pretty big postflop and that you're going to be committed pretty easily, but damn.

looking over most of them, the only thing i saw was your first two hands in one post where you had KT and A8. In the KT hand, you had the nuts on the river right? but called his raise of your bet. reraise. and on the a8 hand, you had trips with top kicker. you're fearing a full house and him hanging in there with 9J to hit a gutshot, which i really doubt he'd call bets with. i'm easily calling, probably reraising. might help you make an extra 20 bucks.

otherwise seems you caught some bad breaks. i've had nightmares before where i woke up and thought "damn, well at least my full house wasn't beaten by quads when the board was double paired." well, not really, but i thought it would make you feel better.
