I have been on a bad slide lately which has eaten away at my bankroll. It has been a combo of OOTM in both SNGs and a once a week On Land tourney w/ a $120 buy-in.

Anyways, I have held my compusure through most of this run but, after another consective bubble in a SNG.....I snapped

After about 30 minutes of releasing the pent up frustration, I settled down, opened up a Word doc and began to type. The thoughts that I was typing, become my pledge, my contract w/ myself, my mantra....

I thought I would post it because it actually helped me refocus and get back on track and it is a result of alot of concepts I have learned from FTR.
I am wondering if anyone has ever written bullet points on a sticky or index card that they refer to every now and then as a means of focusing or psyching up to play.

My Pledge:

I will play with 100% focus on the game. I will focus on process, not results and make sure to not get emotional if things go bad…..especially with the results. If my process was correct, then I can get up from the game with no concerns or disappointment whatsoever. If I have leaks in my poker game, I will not scream about them, get angry or go on tilt. I will IMMEDIATELY work on the problem and do all I can to remove them from my game. Negative emotions get in the way of learning!!

I will strive to be a clever, calculating and feared poker player. I will be confident in the poker skills I have learned and the instincts I possess, but humbled by what I still need to learn. I will always show class whether I am winning or losing, on line or on land. I will only play poker when it is time to play poker and there is nothing else I need to do.
