Tilt and AQo
Sorry I can't get the HH but I think I can remember it fairly well.
.05/.10 NL Ring
Stacks:
Me $9.50 UTG
Extra $10 MP
Villan $4.30 Button
Background:
The villian was bad maniac. We'd been at the table a while together and his stack was swinging up and down but somehow about 3 hands before this he had gotten up to approx. $14. Within these3 hands he had lost 75% of his stack. A good portion of it to me. I'd seen him AI with 88, showdown Axo and make wild continuation bets with missed AK.
No read on the Extra. Probably loose/passive but only because most of the table population is.
Hand:
I'm dealt AQo and raise 4x. folds around to Extra and he calls. Then folds around to Villan he pushes AI immediatly, no hesitation. Blinds fold.
Now I'm thinking:
1) Tilt
2) Hes maniac even without tilt
3) If I call and loose I'm back down to half stacked which is what I started with. Not exactly broke.
4) I'm probably at worst a coinflip unless he has AA, KK, QQ. But I believe this guy would push with a lot less.
5) The Extra guy only called my 4x PFR so he probably doesn't have too strong a hand. He'l probably fold to the $4.30 AI. Which is good, I think.
But:
1) AQ is still a drawing hand. If I don't hit and he does I can quite easily loose. I've seen him AI 88 before, if this is the case here I'm behind. I don't want coinflips in a ring game.
2) If the Extra Guy calls with a good hand I'm even worse off. Multiway AIs are not that uncommon at these limits. He has the stack to put me AI which I don't want.
3) This call is half my stack. Possibly more.
So, do you call or fold?
