He raises to 6BB preflop, and i would normally fold JJ to that, because it says BIG PP.. but the villain has raised this much or more preflop about 6 times in the last 10 mins and i have previously seen him drastically overvalue low pairs and As or Ks. So i see the flop, rather than raising him because i didnt feel like getting AI on a coinflip with AK. He pot bets the rag flop so my immediate thoughts are un improved AK/AQ or pp, no set because i think he would slow down. so i push. good idea? i figure bett to take it there where theres to many scare cards coming if i smooth call or raise and get called. Is a smaller raise better in this situation though, say to $10-12? to get the same effect but risk less incase i've read wrong and he is setting me.

mm.. i showed it.. not sure why, so is there any reason i should or shouldnt have shown? I have only been at the table 15 mins, so i havent got much of an image developed yet.
    villain goes AI
i call with a set (i have him owned)
    i win pot

Well, I have actually played with glittergulch a lot on the 0.05/0.10 tables and from what I read is that he is very very tight and usually has a hand when he bets......but maybe hes different on the $25 NL....but I think a reraise to ~$9 would get him to fold or tell you if your beat....no reason to put all your chips in.

Also, dont show....your telling people that you limp/call jacks which is given out good info for free....don show

mm.. i rarely see him raise less than 6-7BB preflop.. and i'd put him as a less crazy maniac.. I havent seen a huge amount though.. i've sat with him 3 times i think.. so maybe he was tilted or having an agressive moment.. thanks for the info on him though, i shall take it into consideration next time i see him.

One time I sat with him for 1:30 and did not raise a single hand...maybe limped a few...but then I got TT's and he raised to like 9xBB....that was autofold for me.

Sure he may be stealing there but do you really want to risk your whole stack to find out? There is no need to overbet here. Raising him to $8 would achieve the same result if he is stealing. Smooth calling and raising the turn is also a good play.

I've played this guy a few times and he is generally pretty tight, but if he puts you on a hand similar to his he will pull a pot steal (CO is glittergulch):

    PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (9 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

    saw flop|saw showdown

    SB ($24.70)
    BB ($78.85)
    Hero ($7.45)
    UTG+1 ($14.40)
    MP1 ($23.95)
    MP2 ($6.40)
    MP3 ($16.15)
    CO ($42.30)
    Button ($10.95)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with K, A.
Hero raises to $0.5, 4 folds, CO raises to $1.5, 3 folds, Hero calls $1.

    Flop: ($3.35) J, 3, 5 (2 players)
Hero bets $2, CO raises to $40.8, Hero calls $3.95 (All-In).

    Turn: ($50.10) K (2 players, 1 all-in)

    River: ($50.10) T (2 players, 1 all-in)

    Final Pot: $50.10

    Results in white below:
Hero has Kc Ad (one pair, kings).
CO has As 8s (high card, ace).
Outcome: CO wins $34.85. Hero wins $15.25.

I think he pegged my weak lead pre-flop as Ax, which is what I wanted, this table was so tight that any reasonable action pre-flop would clear the table. Even this bet scared most off...
