    Default Should I have pushed?

This occured during the last home game I went to. Pot was $50 ($35 for 1st place, $10 for second, $5 which was buy in for third).

Down to last two, BB = 10chips, both players have equalish stack sizes.

I get dealt 77 and am UTG. Raise to 5BB. Get called.

    Flop comes out 6 Q A rainbow.

Both check. At this point I put villain on an Ax (95% sure he has the ace!)

Turn comes out A. Villain only bets 10 so I call

River comes out 7 - I get my full house so I decide to push all in. He immediately calls to show he had A 7 giving him Aces full of 7's.

I'm pretty happy with my decision to push since I thought I had the boat and only put him on a set. Thoughts?

I'm happier that my read of Ax was spot on. After this hand I ended up being massively short stacked and could only last 2 more hands before the blinds got me Very annoying because I was in front for most of the game...

The only mistake I can see is your call of the flop bet. Calling is a mistake here. When someone bets weak into you, you either fold or raise. Against a weak player (someone who plays AX) I may raise it to 30. He may fold it right there 30% of the time. Against a strong player its an easy fold. For all practical purposes, you are not drawing here. Your 2 outs to improve are so remote as to not even be a consideration. You want to just jump on his weak bet and try to steal it.

Once the 7 showed you played it standard.
