    Default River bet size

What is a good bet size on this river? Anyone bet this turn?

    $50 NL (6-max)

    CO ($69.88)
    Button ($25.75)
    SB ($49.15)
    BB ($35.05)
    UTG ($49.25)
    Hero ($37.20)

Preflop: Hero is MP with 9, 9. SB posts a blind of $0.25.
1 fold, Hero raises to $1.5, CO calls $1.50, Button calls $1.50, 2 folds.

    Flop: ($5.25) 7, 6, 6 (3 players)
Hero bets $3, CO folds, Button raises to $6, Hero calls $3.

    Turn: ($17.25) T (2 players)
    Hero checks, Button checks.

You raised pre flop so he probably put you on over cards and thinks you missed the flop, so he min raised to see if you're serious. Before the turn card comes out i doubt he has a hand better than A7, so bet the turn for info. I think you have to bet the river here if it's anything but an ace or king.

So you raised pre-flop and the button comes at you with that board? That's a scary situation unless the button is a very loose aggressive player. I think your overpair deserves a call on the flop raise but I would have checked the turn too and maybe called a bet there. I'd be surprised the button checked behind, he may be setting a trap or he may have really let go. I'd go with another $3 on the river as a blocking bet. It would help to know what the river card is.

The river was a complete blank. The opponent was a bit loose preflop (like most 6-max players) and not too aggressive. His check behind on the turn convinced me my hand was good (I figured him for a 7). The real question is how much do you think a pair of 7s will call on that river?

If you have a loose image, i think 5-6$ looks callable for someone holding a 7 after you checked the turn.
