Thinking opponent. A little passive, picks his spots but overall I'm picking him apart. Been opening for 180 and autobetting the flop for another 180. Checks on the turn have been attacked in prior hands.

Sure he could be on a draw, but how do you know he doesnt have a set or two pair or a jack with a better kicker (just call me weak tight)? Its an awfully big reraise and unless you have other information that you are not sharing as to why he is on a draw, I think this is one of those bets where better hands call you and weaker hands fold. I suppose you could argue that there is already 1000 or so in the pot which is worth picking up but then why not raise pot? Same reward, less risk no? Or are you trying to create an image here? Obviously you have been playing a lot of hands with him before this so is there something in his betting pattern that made you sure he is on a draw?

TPGK is good enough for me heads up. When you know checking the turn has been attacked in prior hands it's a good enough hand for a check raise when you know the villain would make that play with a range that TP beats a good portion of.

Do we know this? Accoring to Fnord the opponent is a little passive, passive players dont get aggressive with draws.

The other point is the size of the (check) raise, seems like you can achieve the same thing with a smaller bet. Keep in mind the size of the blinds...

Overall I agree with the concept, I just dont like the all in check raise.

What raise doesn't commit me to a river? How much fun is building a big pot then check/calling (or fold) out of position? Which hand/draw do you put him on here? He's got something (otherwise he would have folded) and with so many possiblities all-in removes the guessing game. Do you think he lays down a better hand here?

Wasn't sure he was on a draw, however he had already thought about it for 10 sec and I figured there was a good chance he was drawing (computing pot odds) so I'd screw with his head a bit.

It probably doesn't. The whole point of the rule is to make it so that when 1 person pushes and its folded around to the last guy, he cant say "What did everyone fold?" and find out if any of his outs were folded. Heads up you don't need to worry about this so the rule would be a little pointless.

1000-1200 wouldnt commit me. If he comes back over the top of this bet then you (depending on your read) you can make a laydown while still having some chips left (crippled sure, but a 1000+ chips with these blinds still gives you a chance).

Its not much fun at all, but when you are beat its not much fun losing your stack here either.

I think hes on the draw or a weaker jack here 80% of the time, the other 20% of the time you might run into a jack with a better kicker, two pair or a set. Depends on the opponent though...

No, but he lays down a second best hand here for a smaller raise and you give yourself no chance of not being destacked when he does have a better hand.

I think his call on the flop was because he caught second pair and your 180 looked like a standard follow up bet. When you check the turn, he says; "Ah-ha....I though so" lets take this down with as little risk as possible. When you check raise him all in I think he say whoops I was wrong and folds.
I agree a 4x check raise would really send the same message and allow you to let go if my above assesment was wrong.....in fact a 4x check raise may be more scary to a thinking opponent since it is leaving him room to come over the top of you.

I agree, it's very unlikly he is ahead of you. Yeah, you're doomed if he's slowplaying, but that's HU for you. I think you push BECAUSE of all the draws. You don't want to have to call a bet on the river if a scare card comes.

He went into the tank and folded. My shift into super-aggro over-bet mode put him on tilt and he went out picking the wrong spot to try to beat me into the pot.
